whoo hoo!

I've been thinking of getting a ticket package myself. Not a huge fan of hockey, but I figure I might as well try!

You won't regret it. If college wasn't ridiculously hard for me this semester, I would have probably bought it. One of the stupidest thing about the NHL's schedule is how the fans of Western Conference teams don't get to see guys like Jagr, Ovechkin, Crosby, Kovalchuk, etc (ie: most of the exciting players in the league), unless you have Center Ice.

Oh, yeah. I had it last year and it was great. I leave work at 4 so I usually get home at 4:30, just in time to catch East Coast games.

You're so right about seeing those guys. I am from Pittsburgh originally, so I loved watching Crosby play last year and can't wait to see him and Malkin play this year. I also like to watch guys like Ovechkin, Kovalchuk, Gaborik, etc. It's awesome to know you'll get to see some great players every night. :)

Malkin was injured tonight after crashing into his teammate John LeClair. First he had to go through all that nonsense to get out of Russia, and then the continuing legal battles, now he gets injured in his first NHL game. What a rough couple of months for him, hopefully he will be ok. This year's rookie class won't be as good as the last, but with guys like Malkin and Boston's Phil Kessel (one of the most exciting American players to come around in a long time), it should still be fun to watch. I just wish some of these guys played in the western half of the continent. :D

Coyote tv games are free. So you can become a hockey fanatic without paying anything extra. :)

in college my cable guy hooked me up with center ice - i loved it, was great to have a couple beers, finish up some homework and watch the hockey games

although here i'm committed to the sunday ticket and nba package - last year my wife said she'd tolerate the center ice package if I wanted to go for it - i passed as i don't think i'd have enough time to really get good use out of it and decided to use the money on game tickets instead - not sure if i'm going to go for it this year yet

Cox is showing their free preview of Center Ice this week, I absolutely love it. Watch any hockey game I want? Brilliant!

so i bought it

note to those with the HD package on DTV - channel 96 (and I think 97) will be broadcasting some games in HD - the rep also said that will serve as the HD station for Fox Sports AZ for the Suns, DBacks & Coyotes

Man, I rushed home last night to watch the Penguins and Rangers and didn't get to see any of it. :(

Then I saw the score last night and it sounded like a great game. Turned on ESPN this morning and two of Barry's Best goals were by the Penguins!

It looked like a fantastic game. A ton of lead changes, and Crosby with the game winning goal with 3 seconds left. :shocker:

And then tonight, Carolina won on a goal with one second left, crazy...

SJ/Vancouver is looking to be a good one - 4-3 SJ going into the 3rd, sharks took a couple bad penalties and the canucks will start with a 2 man advantage

starting to get a little chippy - should be a great finish
