Kids got alot of fire in him. I think you can compare him to both Manziel and Wilson. Only time will tell how good he will be. I also think if Manziel had went to a good team instead of the browns he would have done better. I wouldn't mind the Cards taking a chance on him.

Thank you for helping prove my point. Even Seattle knows Wilson is not going to beat from the pocket.

Krang is right. Teams want to keep him there, and when they do, he struggles, it's just hard to keep him there.

Is Mayfield the athlete Wilson is? I doubt it. Brees can beat you from the pocket. Is he the pocket passer Brees is? I doubt it.

What tells you he does not have the ability to be a pocket passer like Brees? I'm curious, because if he does not have the athletic ability of Wilson, then he must have won the Heisman with his arm :)

The thing I see is he throws his receivers open, rare talent. Kind of Warner like. His size bothers me but his grit is a desired quality.

Wow... i must've missed it when Keim signed RG3 and called Gabbert a franchise savior!
...dbs
Bottom line, Keim couldn't manage to bring in a promising young QB for 5 years. That's quite an epic fail in a QB driven league! It helps Keim that Palmer worked out for the most part, but that he passed this year on a QB in the draft tells me everything I need to know. Keim will be forced to hang his hat on a QB soon. If not, Bidwill for sure will find a better GM. I've liked Keim too initially, but far too many fails along the way to give him a long leash. Actually I think Keim is an average GM at best, which can't be accepted imo.

Yeah, Right. Can't be too hard. All we need is a great GM, a great coach, a great QBOTF, a great left tackle, a great receiver, a great tight end and a great running back. Now for the defense......
Yeah, right that all shouldn't be too hard.

The only thing I worry about is Arians putting up a fight to not take Mayfield if Keim feels he’s our guy. I hope he has the stones to choose future over present and land a HC willing to develop Baker.
This would be the stupidest pick ever. Get Rosen, Jackson ot Rudolph. I would vomit if they draft this egomaniac nutjob. Just my 2 cents

Keim is a joke. Any real GM would've turned every stone possible to get a franchise QB. Even the lowly 49ers went out and got their franchise QB, their GM Lynch got him during his 1st (!) season. Rams got their franchise QB, and Russell Wilson is imo the best QB in the game. Keim is a coward. Signing the likes of Gabbert, RGIII, and selling them to us as potential franchise saviors, what a joke!

Jimmy G is an UFA. Can the 49ers sign and keep him? If not go after him Cards.

What QB in the draft did he pass on this past year? Trubisky, Mahomes, and Watson were all selected prior to the Cards pick.

last year's draft kinda worries me as it relates to this year

the Cards look to be drafting somewhere between 8-15 or so ---

and even the day prior to the 2017 draft, conventional draft wisdom was that one of those guys was a top 10 pick (Trubisky) with Watson and Mahomes more like mid to bottom of the first round.

they all go top 12.

I just see it happening again -- with prior to the draft everyone projecting Mayfield as the bottom half of round 1 guy and come draft day, some team trades up ahead of the Cards to get him.

Memo to Bruce and Keim: please spend pre draft talking about how much you love Darnold's, Rosen's, and Mason Rudolph's height and big arms and how necessary it is to have a stature like that

I see the New York teams trading up to 1 and 2 in this draft, and taking Darnold and Rosen. The Browns will end up with either Bradford or Keenum.

Troy Smith won the Heisman by the largest margin ever with his arm. How'd that work out in the NFL?

Troy was selected in the fifth, and I do not see the same fate for Mayfield... these Cardinals are probably going to have to move up to select any QB of value

If Mayfield has a great game against Georgia, a good SEC defense...he'll solidify himself into the top 5. If he struggles...that could push him outside the top 10. Big game for him, as far as where he's drafted.
