no telling. One can be nearly certain he will not go #1.... the comparisons to manziel ensure that. Cleveland will pick the squeaky clean member of the top 4 QB's in the draft.Do you think he’ll be there when the Cardinals draft?

I think the character concerns are less than the physical ones. He’s so small.
Well soon see. He's bigger than Wilson and Brees
But, it's been pointed out that those 2 have very long arms that allows them a higher release point. Mayfield is not going to be able to improvise to the degree he does in college. He'll have to be able to throw from the pocket for any long term success. He's bigger than Wilson and Brees
Wilson does have kind of a windup release. He's definitely an anomaly and still is not probably not going to beat you when kept in the pocket.Long arms aren't really good for a QB either. The release takes so much longer. Give me big hands to protect the ball over long arms.
@Mayfield: I don't see him becoming a Cardinal as long as Arians is our HC. Not a good fit at all. While I think Arians can adapt at times, he won't re-write his playbook from scratch. Now if we could hire someone like the Chiefs, Seahawks or Vikings OC as new HC, Mayfield is our guy.

The only thing I worry about is Arians putting up a fight to not take Mayfield if Keim feels he’s our guy. I hope he has the stones to choose future over present and land a HC willing to develop Baker.im not assuming this
Keim has been outspoken in how he let Wilson's height dissuade him from taking him -- i read that as an indirect reference to Mayfield
Further, Mayfield has plenty of arm strength and throws a really nice deep ball

It's impossible to believe that you still think that Russell Wilson isn't an exceptional quarterback.
The Seahawks have resolved this by never giving him a pocket to play from.I don't think Cbus is saying he isn't exceptional. And he is right, the book on limiting Wilson is to keep him in the pocket. Easier said than done.
This mock has us taking Mayfield at #14. It also has the Jets taking a linebacker not a QB. FWIW.

They prefer the "just run for your life" offenseThe Seahawks have resolved this by never giving him a pocket to play from.
Thank you for helping prove my point. Even Seattle knows Wilson is not going to beat from the pocket. The Seahawks have resolved this by never giving him a pocket to play from.
Interesting that the Cardinals apparently made an offer to RG3 in the offseason. Strange, considering that he'd be an ill fit for the current system, but if true, it shows that Keim is not averse to bringing in a very different style of QB than the "Arians prototype" big, strong-armed, pocket passer (which has simpy been the NFL prototype for a couple of decades).@Mayfield: I don't see him becoming a Cardinal as long as Arians is our HC.
