per Urban's blog--

both he and Bill Sr stayed behind in NY with Q at the hospital

flew Q (and his fiancee) home in Bidwill's plane when he was released

glad to see the contract stuff didnt get in the way of doing the right thing

For as much crap as the Bidwill's get about not being business savvy, they do seem like good people. Many of the old time Cards seem to be very faithful to Mr. B because they view him as having a big heart.
I seem to recall Dan Dierdorf standing up for Mr. B at his Ring of Honor presentation.

are you sure they weren't trying to get him to agree to an extension while he was all groggy from the hit :D?

Whatever it takes! :D (too soon?)

Edit: I only make light of the situation because Q is going to be ok, I am actually not that heartless.

Bill Bidwill is old school. Obviously Q is too. This partnership will last and Q will retire as a Card.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well, there is nothing business about the situation it sounds like.

There is a time for business, and there is a time to worry about someone's personal health.

I like that the Bidwills know the difference. Boldin's "injury" (I put that in quotes cause he seems to be OK with this Wolverine type healing powers) was scary. It probably scared the HECK out of his family.

Bidwills wanted to make sure that Boldin was OK and was treated with the respect that someone who is putting it out there for the cause should be.

Classy to say the least.

Plus I know there was a lot of he said, she said going on but I believe the Cardinals when they talk about Anquan being the heart and sould of the organization and that they want to re-sign him.

After a shakey offseason I must say it is a good scene to see both sides put aside all this and show everyone that there a priorities and some always outwiegh others.

Mike was one of the guys surrounding Q in the endzone

Call Me Soft Hearted But...

Now would be the time for the Bidwills to put business decisions aside and get Q's deal done right now.

The intangible benefits from such a gesture (i.e. its impact on team chemistry, fan attitudes etc.) would outweigh salary, cap and budget considerations.

Plus - It would be the right thing to do.

Exactly what I was thinking too! Maybe this will pull them together!

I think it would be a great gesture but the question remains: what type of contract do you offer and how much are you willing to give Boldin?

When I read that he was there with his pops it definitely was a pleasant surprise. I am sure Anquan was shocked to see them as well. lol I really am starting to like Mike B a lot and think that in due time he is really going to turn this franchise around when he completely takes over for Billy boy.

Except for the fact that it wasn't a TD reception to put us in the playoffs, it does have a whole Jerry McGuire quality to it doesn't it?

Come on, show Rod, I mean Q THE MONEY!

Something else that doesn't fit the picture....even if he was at the game, I don't see Rosenhaus running down to the field to check on Q and call his family.

Give Drew a break, they were having a sale at the Men's Warehouse, the latest mock turtle necks and shiny suit jackets were unveiled over the weekend.
