Nice article. Amare wants to play for a winning team and help recruit players to make that happen. Very impressive for a young man!

Just to play devil's advocate, do we really think that Nash wasn't going to take the deal anyway? Cuban had made up his mind not to match the Suns' offer.

The point isn't that he got us Steve Nash. The point is that it's exciting to see a guy we all want to be our franchise player stepping up to say and do the right things off the court. He's building locker room chemistry and building excitement for his teammates. That's something Kobe's been knocked for his whole career and our guy is doing it before his third season.

Unless it's true that he forced Marbury out... :p

I think this helps Cuban's arguement that Nash didn't have any idea about what Phx was going to do.

I doubt Amare's arrival was a surprise to Duffy, so I assume he meant he surprised Nash with it.

I can't wait till Amare becomes a FA, and we have to deal with stuff like this from the other side of the table

I am sure we will offer Amare what he is worth before he becomes a free agent. I think the only free agent we lost was Dice but that was a very different situation than any other.

Assuming Stoudemire continues to progress this season, it's a no-brainer to max him out as soon as he's eligible for an extension.

Hey, what better way to improve locker room chemistry than to get rid of the guy you're gonna argue with.*

*And no, I won't use a smiley face to spoon feed the degree of sarcasm versus truth.**

**And by "you" I don't mean Elindholm(specifically).

I know you're kidding, but Amare's main criticism was not over Stephon's ball hogging, but his sitting out of practice sessions. You can understand why Stephon wanted to avoid getting worn down, but practice is where teams learn to play together.

Maybe it's just me, I rather like it when the team's star insists that everyone practice rather than that player look for opportunities not to.

Amare has a hundred times more leadership qualities than Marbury. Marbury was too selfish.

Would love to see some pictures of that group that recruited Nash. I don't think I have ever seen Amare all dressed up. ;)

Wasn't a black dress though. That's what I was thinking about.

Yeah, it wouldn't definitely be odd to see Amare in a black dress.

Also, I think I need to start post padding. Dave64 just joined a few days ago and already has 40 more posts than I do. I've been on this board for 2 years, not including when I had to reregister after the move.

Carey, don't feel too bad. I have this many posts because I do not have much of a life. Nothing personal to anyone else who posts a lot! Funny that you mentioned me because some people tell me I look like Drew Carey. That is not a complement in my opinion. Nothing personal to anyone else who looks like Carey. Not that there is anything wrong with that! LOL

Dr. Dumas, are you related to former Sun Richard Dumas?

That may have been Amare Stoudemire's public complaint, but I guarantee if he went to management of Bal Marbury it had to do with Marbury dominating the ball. It wouldn't surprise me if he had Duffy talked to them.

I don't think we can do that in Basketball. But I know what you mean

Amare just recently signed with Duffy.

I wonder if the Suns motivated him to do that to recuit Nash.
