Thank god for that. At least hes burning the clock. Or, would you rather have some incomplete passes stopping the clock so San Diego can score 60 points?

Hes stuck with an awful oline, a rookie QB and iffy wrs outside of fitz. He is also stuck running mccoys playbook.

Shame for him. Even if he was considered an up and coming oc, this team may have destroyed any chance of getting a fair shake

He’s a QB coach with two years of experience. The only member of the staff I would keep (but in the role of QB coach). He didn’t ask for this. Keim, Wilks and McCoy did

Never... Not once.

I just thought it would cool to not see a trap play EVERY First and 10.

Cardinals have only scored more than 20 points two times. And one game was the 21 against the Raiders. Arians has to be shaking his head

What else should Leftwich do? If he airs it out trying to mount the impossible comeback, the Chargers not only break the record for consecutive completions, but also the record for most sacks in a game. With this OL you can only build your pass game around dumpoffs and screens. Anything more than that will result in a sack or pick about 50% of the time. That's what you get with a promising but turnover prone rookie QB behind the worst OL in the NFL.

So they scored on the scripted plays. Then as soon as it's fully in Rosen's hands, they can't score at all. That sounds so familiar. The New Orleans game with Arians is the one that stands out the most. It's happened this year before though. I don't even know what it says about Leftwich, good or bad.

Leftwich was never ready to be an OC. This experience for him is simply getting through the season and learning some valuable lessons. I get everyone wanting McCoy gone but nothing has really improved in any way.

I don’t know. I’m not a professional NFL playcaller.

But neither, apparently, is Byron Leftwich.

Terrible situation Leftwich has been put it. Almost impossible to win... He's not even getting to call his own play concepts ... he's using the half-baked McCoy offense they installed at the beginning of the year.

It's true Leftwich is stuck with the McCoy offense however he has opportunity every week to change it up a little bit and to start massaging it to make it better and I don't think that has happened or else Wilks isn't allowing it to happen. Over time there is no reason why Leftwich can't take certain plays and modify them or insert plays he draws up and insert them into the game plan. There is no reason why you can't take the McCoy offense and modify it over time a little bit each week.
