The UFC is working on bringing Nick Diaz back to the octagon. Diaz has not fought Jan. 2015 when he dropped a unanimous decision to ex-middleweight champion Anderson Silva. That bout was later ruled a no contest when both fighters failed drug tests related to the event. Diaz was suspended for 18 months by the Nevada State Athletic Commission as a result of testing positive for marijuana metabolites. He was later also handed a one-year suspension from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency for not providing his whereabouts for three out-of-competition drug tests as per the USADA protocol.
