Foles' stats against Oregon State: 25/34, 254yards, 3 passing TD and one rushing TD. No INT's on the road in Corvallis. Outstanding!

Props to the defense for getting three straight sacks to end the game.

BEAR DOWN! :cats:

Indeed. A pocket passer on this team is much more efficient than one that has to buy time with his legs. I'm much more confident in this team now with regards to getting into a good bowl game.

GO CATS! BEAR DOWN!

Gimme a guy who can complete some passes over a scrambling QB anyday. Defenses were just going to start bringing 8 to the box if UA stuck with Scott. Good call with the QB change by Stoops.

Nick was great tonight for his first start. How in the world could they think Scott was better? By the way, was the fix in tonight? Those two plays that went to the replay and were not reversed was unbelievable. Even the announcers said the calls should of been reversed.

To be fair, Foles has been better than Scott for awhile now.

Thanks again Dennis Erickson!

God only knows why Scott ever was the starter over Foles, granted it was only one game, but Foles looked far superior. I would venture to say if ASU had Foles under center, they would have beaten GA. :|

Who would have thought? A QB in a spread offense who can throw the ball and make the right decisions leading to an offensive breakout...

Foles is the truth. He was throwing darts yesterday in a hostil environment and showed touch with the fade to the end zone. I am excited he is going to be under center for awhile.

I know I am not the first to say this but he looks exactly like that kid "Sunshine" from Remember the Titans.

If ASU had a good qb to go along with their defense, they would have to be one of the top 2 teams in the Pac-10.

He is definitely the real deal. Everyone notice how our red zone efficiency exploded from where it was from the first few weeks? I did.

Also, kudos to our backup RBs. I can't wait to see how the team works with a full, healthy lineup.

Their O-line and RB situation is nothing to write home about either but yeah, their defense is legit and should only get better. That unit is going to be a juggernaut in 2010-2011 if not already. But what's somewhat gratifying regarding ASU isn't just the Foles situation (he'd be starting for ASU right now by a pretty wide margin) it's also the Jarrell Barbour-Gerrell Robinson-Ryan Bass fallout. Arizona's fallback options after those guys switched their pledges have all surprisingly become better players than that trio.

I was looking forward to seeing a UofA freshman get eaten alive by the best defense in the Pac-10 at on the road.

ill just have to settle for a sophomore now.... :)

Maybe you should do your homework, both Scott and Foles are sophomores. I'm hoping the Cats can whoop ASU again this year, maybe even worse than the 31-10 pounding they gave them last year. :)

haha you must not watch very much ASU football if you don't see how awesome the defense is. Losing to UW is embarrassing to an entire team
Perhaps you should've paid more attention to the reading comprehension portion of your English 101 class last year because then you may have noticed where I called ASU's defense a potential juggernaut on another thread.

Anyone with brain would not leapfrog an ASU team with only two sacks (none by a defensive lineman) thus far against the easiest schedule in the conference over a USC unit that has stopped much better teams at a comparable statistical rate. ASU's defense will be great, USC's is simply more talented and better coached.

A nice comparison would be Nick Foles (subject of this thread) who is leading the Pac-10 in passer rating right now and has looked good on nearly every possession. Of course he's only played in garbage time and against a weak secondary which is why nobody's calling him the best or even among the better QB's in the conference. Just that he's looked good thus far and as a sophomore have something to look forward to.

Sorry, I don't follow you in every thread like you apparently do with me.

All I'm saying is that USC's defense should be able to carry their offense to a win against a team like Washington. You win and lose as a team.

Do you even watch college football?

They didn't force a single turnover against a Washington team that has 6 turnovers in their other 3 games. ASU's defense has carried our terrible offense, USC's defense couldn't carry their average offense against a team that won one game in the last 2 years.

To say I don't watch college football either means you don't know what the hell you are talking about, or you don't wanna look at the facts.

And you guys have a little sticky at the top of your board here with tear drops all over it, but you guys throw more punches than anyone else.

You just contradicted yourself right there... Not to mention USC defense did enough to carry SC to a win, they still held UW to 16 points, what more can you ask for out of a defense that is on the field all day long?
