When the Chicago Bears drafted tight end Colston Loveland with the 10th overall pick, many people took notice and praised the selection. Another weapon for new head coach Ben Johnson's offense and playmaker for quarterback Caleb Williams, Loveland is expected to bring an instant impact at the tight end position alongside Cole Kmet.

Having played for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines the past three seasons, Loveland established himself as one of the best tight ends in the country, which in turn led him to being the first tight end selected in this year's draft.

One college coach who couldn't forget about Loveland's talent is legendary Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, now an analyst for ESPN. During Thursday's night first round of the draft, Saban discussed how Alabama lost out on him in college and then Loveland went on to join a Michigan team that defeated them in the Rose Bowl during the Wolverines' national championship run.

” Another one of the recruits that we lost, but anyway, beat us in the playoffs,” Saban said. “But this guy is a fantastic athlete. He’s the best receiver of all the tight ends in the draft, in my opinion, because his athletic ability and his ability to separate at the top of the route and beat man-to-man coverage. He has natural hands, long arms, which gives him a big catch radius.”It's high praise for Loveland from one of the greatest college coaches in history, and it should excite Bears fans to hear. Chicago will have another dangerous playmaker for opponents to have to plan for, and at the tight end position, they'll have to pick their poison between Kmet and Loveland leaving the other with plenty of opportunities.
