Nickname for our Defense...

given the Cardinal's effort on "D" this season - it's time. It's well earned. And this is a good one. It's a Red Desert original. Here goes:

Nature punishes the middle of the country with tornados. The east coast and the gulf states get hurricanes. The pacific northwest, earthquakes.

The southwest is spared these occurrences. But they are not spared --

FLASH FLOODS

So allow me introduce you to the FLASH FLOOD defense.

Picture third and long and the screen flashes - FLASH FLOOD WARNING! - as everyone in the house lifts a placard with the words:

FLASH FLOOD WARNING!!!

I agree. They dont deserve a nickname yet. Once they get themselves out of the 20th ranking of scoring D and closer to the top 5 then they deserve it.

They seem to be doing much better on D than last season. defending the 2 min. drive when there is literally 2 mins or less left on the clock......is the toughest part of the game for a defense. the offense clearly has an advantage in that situation in a close game. When the cards start scoring more points and giving their D some breathing room in the 4th....maybe things will be better. The steelers game was impressive. that's the only cards game I've watched though.

Steel Curtain, Purple People Eaters, Killer B's, and probably about 10-15 more were earned.

The front seven is playing so much better than I can remember, but no nickname until we get some playoff victories, IMO.
