Eric Ebron TE or Johnny Manziel QB or Rashede Hageman DT-DE any of those 3 at 20 would piss me off.

We trade back while top tier talent is there for the taking, but akuna matada, I do not consider Carr top tier talent in the first round. :D

ha...seriously.

if we take a QB, I'm gonna be stoked to be honest with you. I fully trust Arians/Keim know what their doing QB wise, especially seeing what they got out of Palmer last year (who I thought would be awful) and if they think there's a bona-fide QB of the future on the board I'm all for it.

I want franchise sustainability. I'm talking a ten year run. Reality to me is that the losses of Dansby and Mathieu, not to mention a likely Washington suspension are gonna have this team maybe take a slight step back defensively this year, but the offense should be better. So, if we decide to continue building long-term while hoping they can mask the losses in the D, while at the same time building for a life after Palmer. I'm okay with that if that's the way they want to go.

From what I can tell, Mathieu will be back for week one.. If Minter can be what they think he can be, and we add another quality LB in the draft, I wont be worried about the defense.. In fact it might be better with Cromartie on the other side of P2.. Glaring weakness is SS..

man, I hope Mathieu will be back for week one, but I remember hearing the same stuff about Ryan Williams. Mathieu suffered a devastating knee injury, late in the season and the same people who told me not expect Williams back within a year (or at all) are saying the same thing about the type of Mathieu. I'm not holding my breath there.

and I'm not worried about the D. They did a great job last year losing a huge playmaker in Rhodes that I didn't know how they'd cover that spot and assume they'll be able to adequately do the same with Dansby and Mathieu, but maybe not to the same level they were last year. That D was ferocious. playmakers everywhere. at worst I still expect this D to be good (and hopefully better), but it wouldn't surprise me if it took a small step back and I'd be okay with that if they wanted to grab a QB of the future. that's all I'm saying.

Exactly. People gotta remember this is not Rod Graves anymore. I will trust BA/SK until they give me a reason not to. There really isn't a pick that would upset me.

As long as they dont trade 3 first round picks and then try to get them back at the last minute along with a punt returner, I'm good. :D

Passing on a player like Barr or Mosley if they are available.

Unless they pick a person at 20 projected to be taken in the late 2nd and beyond I am fine with whoever they pick. If Carr is the pick then I am fine with it. That is what they are paid to do.

Trading down & having 2003 happen all over again...Skillet hands Johnson & Pace. Pace was a decent player, but trading down generally leads to less talent if your scouts & GM know what they're doing.

Be careful what you wish for trading down fellas :bang:;)

Different regime, different draft.

This draft will produce a bevy of starters into the 4,5 and even 6th Rds.

Last year 65 rookies started for their teams. That record should be broken this next season. Deep, deep draft.

Sill doesn't improve the odds of hitting on those 2 players, which was my point. I like the talent in this draft as well, but only time will tell if we were right. But then again, I depends on who's on the board at 20.

So that would mean we would get a player like Q again in the second round if we did that.. :)
