No, they are not good. They are below average. I would rather see Fossum and Randolph in there, but hey its Brenly's team (Sadly). But I think they may be .500 pitchers. Sparks has a knuckle ball, but a bad one.

How fast do you think they'll pull the plug on Brenley?

When he goes back to his 25-different-lineups-in-the-first-30-games . . . and the D'backs winning percentage is about the same as the Suns.

Strange how those multiple line-ups produced the best offensive team in the NL in 2002 - most runs scored, highest OBP, 2nd highest OPS. Those same multiple line-ups produced the 3rd most runs in 2001.

It's the talent of the guys in the line-up, not the line-up that makes the difference (for the most part).

Look, I think Brenly takes match-ups to the extreme. But I think he is dead on right in giving lots of at bats to the bench guys and platooning. All those extra at bats helped produced an excellent bench in 2001 and 2002 and the good bench was a huge plus in the 2001 playoffs.

Don't know about Randolph as a starter. But yes, I'd rather see Fossum, since he's what the D-Backs got for Curt. I also hope that this is the year Patterson steps up and shows he's a legitimate major league pitcher. I believe he's out of options, and he would be lost to waivers if he doesn't make the 25 man squad.

My choice also was to have Capuano make the squad this year. That was the guy in the Sexson trade that bugged me.
