No. 11 Illinois won as expected, but not like most people would have expected. Playing without three starters due to injuries or NCAA suspensions, the Fighting Illini could have had a tough time with a defensive-minded Jackson State team in Tuesday night's season opener. "I could not be prouder with a bunch of guys in a locker room than tonight," said coach Brad Underwood.
