Dwayne Collins scored 14 points to lead No. 17 Miami to a 70-60 win over Southern Mississippi on Friday in the Paradise Jam opener. The junior forward also had nine rebounds for the Hurricanes (2-0). Jack McClinton and Lance Hurdle added 13 points apiece, with Hurdle hitting a 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer to give Miami a 36-24 lead at the University of the Virgin Islands.
