Anyone else put money on the ponies today? I needed the 8 horse to win (came in second) and the 5 horse to show (came in fourth). I also bet a few other horses that, well, did nothing. :(

Preakness is in two weeks. The Upper Deck in Scottsdale now had OTB, just in case anyone wanted to know.

I love Derby Day! It's the first of three weekends a year that my wife & I turn into degenerate horse gamblers! LOL!

We both bet a total of about $120 ($118 each to be exact) on the Derby yesterday. She didn't win anything, but I hit the 7-8 exacta for $254.50 (on a $5 box bet) and the 7-8-2 trifecta for $440.00 (on a $2 box bet). Alas, my 4 horse superfecta bet didn't inlcude the #5 (I had #14 Scat Daddy instead) horse or that would have paid a cool $29,046.40 on a $2 bet. That would have put a hop in my step for sure!

Next up, The Preakness on the 19th!!

That was a great race. The move that that horse made on the rail was nothing short of incredible. Once he had some open space, he had an extra gear that none of the other horses had.

I could easily see a triple crown this year.
