Interesting of the 4 Florida juniors only one hired Andy Miller as an agent.

I guess the talk that Donovan had disassociated himself from Bret Bearup bears true because Bearup is a financial adviser who was steering players to certain colleges (Florida and Missouri largely) and then steering the players to hiring Miller as their agent when they turned pro(and him as their adviser).

Miller is the agent that got caught tampering with Mike Miller, Tony Harris and Erick Barkley and got in trouble and he's also the guy that according to the book on Sebastian Telfair signed him to a contract midway through his senior year of HS.

2 of the Florida guys hired Aaron Goodwin and the other hired donald Dell who I'm not familiar with, only Taurean Green hired Miller. Even Corey Brewer who was linked to Bearup out of HS didn't pick Miller.

Good to hear that when a team wins to NC's in a row you don't like to think it's because their coach has ties to someone like Bearup and in this case the facts seem to say that's not what happened, they won fair and square.

NBA Rookie Contracts are slotted. Why even hire an agent? Pay an accountant to go over the contract and enjoy your money.

Because all the cool kids are doing it?

Based on some of the interviews I've read, the agents handle the scheduling, deciding which workouts to attend, and in some cases do the prep work on skills and how to handle the interviews and tests.

I'm not sure they earn their fees, but for mid to late first round guys they can really make a difference.

Agents also work on endorsement deals and television appearances unless a kid is business savvy enough to do it himself.
