ACCIDENT — No. 3 Northern scored 13 runs on 17 hits to defeat Fort Hill 13-5 in six innings on Thursday.
Rain Ritchey led the Huskies (5-4, 2-3 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) going 4 for 4 with an RBI while Marisa Perez, Bailey Champlin, Demi Ross, Lily Chambers and Alex Fike each recorded two hits.
Champlin threw four innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits with six strikeouts.
Tatum Bishop led the Sentinels (4-9, 2-5 WestMAC) going 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two stolen bases.
Northern plays in the Bunny Blast mixer hosted by Hancock on Saturday.
The Huskies face South Hagerstown at 11 a.m.
Fort Hill heads to No. 1 Frankfort (12-0) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Rams (5-3, 2-2 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) scored on a sacrifice fly and a two-run double by Adeline Wilson.
A groundout in the first and a steal of home by Bailey Champlin in the fifth led to the Huskies two runs.
Wilson went the distance for Southern, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
She also led the Rams' hitters going 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
Champlin went four innings as Northern's starter and was charged with six hits, two runs and a walk with three strikeouts.
No. 4 Keyser 17, Berkeley Springs 0
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — No. 4 Keyser scored 13 runs in the fourth inning to pull away from Berkeley Springs on Wednesday.
Six hits drove in runs highlighted by a two-run shot from Bibs Felton.
Brielle Root, Leighton Johnson and Suzy Cosenza doubled and Kailynn Burns and Edie Bromhal singled, all driving in runs.
Johnson's only baserunners allowed were a pair of walks across four innings while striking out 10 for the Golden Tornado (9-4).
Keyser hosted Jefferson on Friday evening.
No. 5 Petersburg 10, Philip Barbour 8
PHILIPPI, W.Va. — Petersburg and Philip Barbour combined for 18 runs and 19 hits including four home runs, but the Vikings (9-6) held on for the win.
Ella Markwell, in the top of the sixth, had a three-run blast that extended Petersburg's lead to 10-6.
Avery McDaniel, Katelyn Cooper and Payton McDaniel each went deep for the Colts.
Avery McDaniel's was a three-run homer to open the scoring in the first.
Payton McDaniel hit a two-run shot that put Philip Barbour in front 4-2 in the second while Cooper's pushed the lead to 5-2 on a solo shot in the third.
Kinsley Crites earned the win for the Vikings in four innings, allowing two runs on three hits with four strikeouts.
Olivia Kimble earned a three-inning save, allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

The Vikings played a doubleheader at Robert C. Byrd on Friday starting with Lincoln and was followed by St. Mary's.

FROSTBURG — A nine-run sixth inning sealed the six-inning win for Moorefield over Mountain Ridge as part of Wednesday's Avery Bridges Tournament.
Gracie Simmons tripled, Carlee Haines doubled and Caroline Auville, Aubrey Kidwell and Liddy Keplinger singled to drive in runs during the top of the sixth.
CiCi Kump led the Yellow Jackets (7-8) going 4 for 5 with an RBI while Simmons drove in four runs off two hits and two walks.
The Miners (5-5) scored all three of its runs in the sixth inning on a two-run error and a Savannah Evans' RBI single.
Both teams are at home on Friday as Mountain Ridge plays No. 2 Allegany (10-2) at 4:30 p.m. while Moorefield hosts Philip Barbour at 6 p.m.
Martinsburg 15, East Hardy 2
BAKER, W.Va. — East Hardy's nine errors were costly in a four-inning loss to Martinsburg on Wednesday.
The nine errors directly led to six Bulldogs' runs.
Addison Armentrout hit a solo shot in the third inning for the Cougars (1-9).
Daysha Cook hit a solo shot in the fourth for Martinsburg.
Armentrout led East Hardy with two hits and an RBI.
The Cougars host Berkeley Springs on Friday at 6 p.m.
