Regardless of any official papers you are able to produce...the Lakers still own the Mavericks.

I have to say, that was by far the most balanced box score I have seen from the Lakers in years.

Even Shaq didnt break 20 points

Should they trade Kobe when his legal problems are over? It might hurt in the long run, but right now, I would think you want Payton with the rock, not Kobe when they are starting their offense!! Sometimes subtraction is good for a team. I would think you could get two number one picks for Kobe. Probably get some decent players in return also!! :)

Those are by far the most hideous uniforms in the NBA.

I was looking at those uniforms, and they actually looked like a shiny BROWN, not silver... ugh.

The Mavericks seemed to forget that Karl Malone is still one of the best passing bigmen of NBA. He very simply created a lot of easy baskets for his teammates.
DAL has a lot of scorers but they can't beat the Lakers without Nowitzki.
Walker hitted some 3P-s, Nash had some nice penetrations and that was DAL's offense.

It was a one-sided game, LAL was a much better TEAM.

Did anybody else find themselves needing sunglasses for all the bald head on the Lakers now? Shaq, Malone, GP, Russell were all on at one point in the game and I swear i was blinded by the Staples Center lights reflecting off their heads.

As much as it hurts me to say this, the Lakers looked like a smooth running machine. The offense flowed better then I have seen it in a long time-even after only playing one game. The Lakers do not need the big two to be on every night. They have many weapons now.

I did not watch much of last night's game but I remember seeing a preseason game. I was impressed with Payton he gives them more of a running game than they have had in years.

Let's hope to heck that Kobe messes up the chemistry when he comes back... the Lakers looked unbeatable without him last night. I suppose Phil J. could screw things up by becoming too insistent on them playing a strict triangle but he's usually pretty good about adapting to the players he has... and man it ought to easy to adapt to Payton and Malone they way they were playing.

Fat chance. The truth of the matter is, if you add one of the world's top 3 basketball players to your roster, you don't get worse.

He'll just be another guy you have to double-team, but can't. Kobe has excelled in a secondary role in the past, why would that be any different now? He likes to score the basketball, but you can see that he likes to win more. After all, he was the only Laker that really seemed effected by last year's 2nd round debacle.

Don't forget, the guy has a very high basketball I.Q. He knows how to win, and I can't honestly see him putting some petty rift that he has with Shaq in the way of a Laker championship.
