One of Kentucky's most storied high school volleyball programs has a change in leadership ahead of the 2025 season.

Notre Dame Academy announced that 2016 graduates Madison Salkowski and Hannah Colvin are the school's newest co-coaches.

"Notre Dame volleyball holds such a special place in my heart, and I'm beyond excited to make an impact on the program and the incredible young women I will have the privilege to lead as co-head coach alongside Madison," Colvin said in a statement.

During their playing careers, Colvin and Salkowski led the Pandas to a 94-20 record from 2013 to 2015, won three consecutive Ninth Region titles, and advanced to the state championship match in 2013 and 2014.

Coaching the Pandas is nothing new for Colvin and Salkowski. Both have served as the junior varsity head coach and have spent time as varsity assistants. They take over for 2009 graduate Jenna Leistner and 2010 graduate Leslie Litmer. In three seasons, Leistner and Litmer led NDA to the 2022 state championship, an appearance in the 2023 title match, three straight Ninth Region titles and a 100-15 record.

"Notre Dame Academy extends sincere thanks to coach Litmer and coach Leistner for their service and the positive impact they had on countless student-athletes," NDA president Jane Kleier said.

Both Colvin and Salkowski played in college. Colvin, a defensive specialist and 2020 graduate of Wright State, played in 117 matches over four years, racking up 926 digs, 89 assists and 72 aces. She also helped the Raiders to a 2019 NCAA Tournament appearance. Salkowski attended Seton Hall and registered 181 kills, 162 total blocks and 45 digs in three years. She was named to three Big East All-Academic teams.

Notre Dame may go through a bit of a rebuild this fall after graduating seven seniors, three of whom have signed to play in Division I. Top returners include Audrey Dyas, Teagan Kondik, Lizzy Larkins, Grace Portwood and Katie Zwick. Colvin and Salkowski will certainly get the most out of the roster, having also coached the younger group of players in the last few years.

"As alumnae, they bring a personal connection to the program and a strong sense of what it means to be a Panda. Their recent coaching experience within the program, combined with their collegiate playing backgrounds, make them the ideal leaders to carry NDA volleyball into its next chapter," NDA athletic director Janet Carl said.
