Notre Dame fans had a powerful message for viewers at home during the Fighting Irish's 106-54 win over Stephen F. Austin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Irish fans seated behind the band at Purcell Pavillion wore green t-shirts, each with a letter on it. When all the students were together, the combination of the shirts spelled out this message: "Everybody Watches Women's Sports."

Talk about taking the phrase "student body" literally. OK, technically it's what the fans were wearing on their body, but you get my meaning.

Women's basketball is certainly growing in popularity, and these fans recognize that.
