Are you just saying that, or do you not actually know why it's stretched?

Sounds like you have a widescreen TV and the old DVD is not anamorphic, so it will stretch. The new one will fit your screen perfectly. In order to find out if a DVD will fit your tv normally, it will say that it's Anamorphic Widescreen or Widescreen Enhanced for 16:9 Televisions. (Most DVDs are anamorphic now, so you should never have that problem with newer movies)
