Hold onto the ball, Murray!
round 1 pick 5 is worth 1700 points. Pick 10 is 1300 points. THe second round pick 10 is 480 points so it looks like that would be a pretty fair trade.
I wouldn't make that trade.

I think i would espescially if Joe Thomas is gone. It's a pretty deep draft and we'd have 3 of the first 43 picks. We could very likely get Ginn, Merriwaether, and a top CB like McCauley if he falls. That's adding alot of speed to both sides of the ball.
Ginn and VD on the same squad just made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
He reminds me of Troy Williamson.
Peterson James is slowing down but durable. Petersons just an explosion waitin to happen. Okefor and Berry are fine and Antonio Smith is making big strides. Thomas won't be there MTL. So Peterson or Thomas or trade down for Landry and take CB and OLB with the extra picks.Well, considering that I don't like Ginn, I wouldn't like that scenario. Ginn is vastly overrated. If you want to move from 5 to 10, you need more than a 2nd rounder, value chart be damned. I'd rather stay put and take Peterson or Adams, or someone like that.
There are two players that I ouwld consider at the #5 spot. Gaines Adams, my personel preference, and JOe Thomas. If one of these two isn't available then we sould trade back and look at Nelson, Landry, Q Moses, L Brown, Revis and M Lynch.
Anyone else think that ATL would be an EXCELLENT trade partner if Calvin Johnson is still on the board (or even possibly for Ginn)? We could drop 5 spots and pick up a player or a pick and then that leaves us free to draft a DB at #10....
I also would like to see the Cards pick up that RB from Louisville, Bush. Shipp is walking and we should probably consider trading Arrington to a team like PHI or ATL for a late pick (5th or so)....
I've seen where Levi Brown is falling quickly and now is rated behind Joe Staley from Central Michigan and the kid from Notre Dame. It's hard to figure OT's anymore.Look at last year with Winston Justice falling all the way to round 2 and Jonathon Scott, from Texas, dropped all the way into round 4,iirc. Those were 2 guys that were projected relatively high.
Trade down, get the best available DB left? I can see that happening.
Another possibility here-- Peterson slips to 5.. Houston, who is hurting hardcore for a HB, trades the 8th pick and a second rounder to move up to get him.
At 8, the Cards take Leon Hall or LaRon Landry.. Sign me up.
I'm a big Peterson fan Stout, but the secondary is hurting hard.. Plus, the Cardinals have a load of money invested in James. I know the dual back set, best player available scenario worked wonders for the Saints, but I don't know if I'm too set on the Cards passing up the opportunity to fix a glaring need to pick another HB.
The Eagles need more of a bruising back. If any of this team's current HBs could fit Philadelphia's needs, it'd be Shipp, not Arrington. Same essentially can be said for the Falcons, although Dunn's getting up there in the years.
Ginn would be licking his chops going against Rolle or Green. He reminds me of Troy Williamson.
I used Arrington to ATL or PHI because he could conceivably be an understudy to either Westbrook or Dunn, who are both aging....
I can't argue with those picks 1-3. I admit, I am in love with Ginn on this team, and I'm scared to death that SF may end up getting him.
.
Man, I coulda sworn Westbrook was around 30-31. Oh well. My point remains that Arrington would be a good acquisition for a team that likes the smaller, shiftier backs with good speed - as long as they have a decent OL. I think that there would be a fair market for him, but I wouldn't be upset if he were still around these parts next year....
