Really like Budda...but respectfully I don't know how he gets these pro bowl selections over better players.

Edit: I guess some of it is how a safety is labeled. Still just in terms of pure a safety Joseph should have made the Pro Bowl. I guess he got punished for Branch being his teammate.

budda prevents passes from being thrown simply by being where he's supposed to be - not to mention the open field tackling near and behind the line of scrimmage - one of his biggest assets is dissecting the play before hand and crushing it all by his damn self - dude lives for 3rd down

UNRELATED: The 2024 Arizona Cardinals rank 28th in 3rd down percentage.

Imagine if Budda had the front 7 that Joseph has. Budda has no choice, but to come up and make plays and tackles near and behind the LOS, because his front 7 isn't capable, yet, of getting consistent pressure.

Would you rather have your safety intercepting the ball and breaking up passes or rushing the passer and tacking behind the LOS.?

He wouldn’t have to rush the passer & tackling behind the LOS if we had DLinemen capable of doing that.
Idk man. In 2021 it felt like Budda was having kinda meh year despite having Chandler Jones and Watt (till injury)

I know Budda is good, but Im not sure his value goes up with a pass rush like we'd think.

He was an All-Pro(2nd team I know) in 2021.

Yes but... us starting 7-0 had a lot to do with that imo. It was clear he wasnt playing at a 2020 level. I think that's the first time we asked if Jalen was actually better.
But I’ll never understand getting frustrated about one of our own players getting an accolade.
You also cited Pat Peterson's sorta "non valid" Pro Bowls before. I never took that as you being frustrated just calling it what it was.

Depends on the scheme. Troy Polamalu only had more than 3 INTS in a season 3 times. Think there were 2-3 years where he was All-Pro, PB for sure, when he had 0-1 Ints. I'm guessing he's better than Kerry Joseph.
lol Budda Baker has 7 career ints total in 8 years…. Less than 1 per season.

Troy P had 7 in a single season 2x and 5 in another. Not counting the years with 3 and finished with over 30 in his career. Buddha will be lucky to finish his career with 10 total. It’s pretty awful for a safety.

I'm just not upset about it this year Budda has been an enormous difference maker the entire year. People are still upset over interception #s?

Out of his nine tackles for loss how many came in the wins as opposed to losses? Figure that out n that’ll tell me how much of a difference maker he was? Turnovers are far more important than the occasional tackle for loss or 100+ tackles 4 to 5 yards down field.

The guy has 0ints, 0 FFs and 0 FRs in an entire season. Def a difference maker.

People are upset at PP for not being a big tackler either so it shouldn't surprise you and he's going to be in the HOF someday.

Awful convenient to set the bar at more than 3 INTs, huh? Polamalu had 3 INTs in a season where he only played five games. The only season he started more than 11 games and didn't get an INT was his last one.

Also, he never had 100 tackles in a season, so he must've sucked.

Not sure where you're going with your Budda takes? Are you saying you don't see Budda as a good/great Safety? Or, are you implying our scheme and/or our front 7 are so bad that a safety has to step-in and do a bunch of clean-up work? Or is it all of that??
