NSU Sharks begin NCAA play with 82nd consecutive home win

The Nova Southeastern men’s basketball team started the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament in familiar fashion: winning at home.

The second-ranked Sharks defeated the eighth-seeded Savannah State Golden Tigers 76-64 Saturday night in at Rick Case Arena in Davie.

Its was NSU’s 82nd consecutive victory at home, extending their NCAA Division II record.

MJ Iraldi led the Sharks, scoring a team-high 17 points and adding eight rebounds. Alex Mangold and Tyler Eberhart each contributed 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Sharks advanced to face Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn in the second round Sunday at 7:30 pm at Rick Case Arena.
