I guess everyone read that article and it did imply that Amare doesn't make friends and pretty much made the whole situation look like Amare is a freak.

Well I think that the NY Times doesn't know Amare AT ALL. Only his mother.

Now in the offseason we already heard from Amare that he will travel with the summer suns all the time and wants to be a leader.

It also seemed like Amare was friends with almost all of the Suns. I have seen him last season having a lot of fun with his teammates.
Doesn't seem like someone who has trouble trusting guys.

Utah fans at the RMR are very impressed how gentle Amare is, enjoying the time with the fans there.

Than you look at the picture gallery at suns.com today and you see that Amare is having lots of fun just being with the guys.

Personally I don't care about his mother or that article anymore. I just know we got someone who always stayed out of trouble is polite, gentle and just a natural leader it seems.

Actually it's hard to judge but I think that Amare has grown a little. I believe that JJ is truely 6'8 and Amare was a shade under 6'10 when they measured him before the draft. However I would say that he is a good 2-3 inches taller than JJ.

I agree that the NY TImes showed him to be a dark person.

I agree he trusts people and is good friends with his teammates.

But...

Remember, we do NOT know Amare. We see pics, interviews, ect...

Also JJ seems a lot more muscular than I remember him. The whole gallery is pretty cool. Especially Zeke Chapman trying to drive on Tim Grgurich.

Yeah that's much better than the slideshow thing they have on suns.com.

I hate that because you have to click like 20 times if you want to see pic #20.
Same with their video footage, would be much nicer if you could download it instead of streaming it all the time.

Some remarks:

Cabarkapa seemed to be faster than I thought and he has nice ball-hanling skills.
Barbosa is at least 1-2 inches taller than Hinrich who is listed at 6'3".
The 1st Suns-fastbreak of the file is a typical Casey Jacobsen-action. He is not fast and skilled enough to make an easy lay-up at the finishing of the fastbreak so he decides to pick up an offensive fault.
