PHO trade

Gugliotta
#17

PHO get

Harrington
Ward
Knight
#30

PHO gets a servicable backup bigman with reasonable contract. They buy-out Ward and save a lot of luxury tax this year with Ward's 2 mil. buy-out. This year's draft is very deep so they can get a valuable prospect at #30 as well. They don't lose too much cap flexibility next year since among the acquired contracts only Harrington's deal won't expire next season.

NYK moves up to the mid 1st round. Gugliotta is from NY. They pay more luxury tax next season and less (because of Gugliotta's expiring deal) after.

I don't want that racist Charlie Ward on our team even to buy his ass out. Screw that trade. Googs will be off the books next offseason and the 17th pick is gonna be a better player than 30.

Even as Knight.
Plus the biggest of Ward's salary (4 mil.) will be off the books THIS offseason.

and the 17th pick is gonna be a better player than 30.
But it probably isn't gonna be a better player than Othella Harrington AND #30 together.

It looks good for Phoenix, but will New York really give up Harrington that easily? He is one of their most valuable players, if you consider both production and salary.

I agree and to be honest I'm not sure that NYK would do this trade unless they know something about the available talent at #17 what we don't.
