We recently had a small discussion about O.J. Anderson the great Cardinal running back drafted in 1979. He was 6'2" and very fast. IN his very first game against a tough Dallas team he rushed for 193 yds. In his first year he was named rookie of the year, player of the year, and all pro. He gained a total of 1605 yards which I think is 8th all time for one season. He gained well over 10,000 total lifetime yards which makes him one of top rushers of all time. In 1985 he had a foot injury and after 4 games was traded to the Giants. He went on to have a steller carreer and being named the most valuable players in the Super Bowl. Prior to Don Coryell being runoff by Mr. Bidwill he was named coach of the year. Clearly Otis Anderson was the best running back in Cardinal history if you look at the numbers. No one even close. With a 16 game schedule the standard these days for a great year as a running back is 1200 yds. We have no one with anywhere near that capability so we need to put that high on our wish list.

Excuse me

Mr. Bidwill did not run off DC, he asked to be traded because he hated St.Louis
fans. HE DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BB.

Exactly my point,Ottis should be in the Hall of Fame.If Curtis Martin is a sure fire hall of famer, which he is, then how is OJ not?To me they are very similar.Martin just has the luxury of 2 extra games every year.

I think Ottis is the 8th greatest ground gainer of all time in the NFL. That is out performing a whole lot of great RB's. Further he did it with a team that was not overly productive. Put him with the Skins of that era and he would probably be #2 or #3.
