wow.

not surprised? He hasnt lived up to expectations but hes super cheap and has potential. Very surprising to me that he didnt even have a chance with this staff.

Oh well.

He's got talent... but has been injured more than his production, imo someone can have a major find if he ever breaks the injury bug. Both moves make sense given BA wants to win NOW!!!

did he get injured a second time? I only seem to remember the college injury that leaked into his first season.

Is he the one that got injured by dockett?

Was never a fan. I hope Abraham can still play.

If Scho pans out on another team, he pans out.

The way I see it we upgraded fron Scho to Abraham and added a year since Scho was going to need a new contract for 2014 for roughly 1.7 million (if you roughly 6 mill/2yr for Abraham). Buys us some time to find an edge rusher.

I see his base shot up to 1.3 million this year...or was going to.. and might still be for another team if picked up on waivers.

Takes away the need to re-sign him when all our 1 year deals are up next offseason.

So probably only took away about 1.7 million from our cap space, but there could be other factors that influence it... like offset language.

it was hard not to feel for outside linebacker O’Brien Schofield on Thursday. He was heading to the field at University of Phoenix Stadium to participate in the conditioning test, when a member of the Cardinals front office cut him off.

Soon, Schofield was headed back to the locker room, apparently having been told of his release. He looked shocked, said a couple of people who saw him.

Asked about Schofield after practice, coach Bruce Arians replied: “It’s a cold business some days.”

Never saw the upside.

Got completely washed out on run plays, so bad he couldn't be out there on 1st and 2nd down, and I never really saw the potential for him to have more than 6 sacks a year.

I remember one decent game versus Cleveland......thats it.

Too bad he was just a classic tweener. If he were bigger he'd be a speed rush DE, but he can't seem to get bigger and hold the weight so he tried to play OLB in the 3-4 and just wasn't good enough against the run.

He improved so much from his rookie year to second year but it didn't carry over.

I hope he finds a job somewhere and does well.

I dunno about all that. Schofield played 88% of the downs against the Vikings in Week 7. That doesn't sound like a guy who was on the bench for two-thirds of the snaps.

I was cheering for Schofield because he was a Cards draft pick and I was watching live when he suffered that terrible injury during Senior Bowl workouts in Mobile.

Four sacks in 9 games gets you pretty close to 8 sacks a year. Another shed draft pick, and we're on track to be one of the older teams in the NFL this season.

Wow... whats he make? 500k? Even if he only plays 8-10 games you can stick him in there on passing downs for the blitz. I dont get what we're doing.
