In need of another center to complement the under-sized Brian Grant, L.A. is expected to initiate talks with Vlade Divac and Chris Mihm, the Orange County Register reports.

there is absolutely no chance of that happening though. If the Phoenix Suns are going to get Divac it will be because the Clippers have matched Richardson's offer. I still say he would be a very good fit at $5-6 million for two years perhaps with a team option for a third. More likely it would be a two-year deal with a player option after the first season.

I don't think offering him slightly over the mid-level exception for a couple of years constitutes a "love fest". The truth is Divac today would still be the best center the Phoenix Suns have had in a long, long time.

Yes, he's a flopper. Yes, he has slowed down some. However he can grab rebounds, he's an exceptional passer, and he can still post up most of the big guys he will play opposite. You guys can quote me right now as saying I would rather have him for two years along with a guy like Tractor Traylor than Quentin Richardson for his offer.

If you have a minute please argue your side against acquiring Divac for the money the Suns have offered Richardson. I may have read it in another thread, but there have been so many posts lately that I'm losing track.

Thanks,

Another thing I see on the board is everyone is arguing minutes. This guy plays too few. This guy plays more. With Divacs, we only need 20 to 30 minutes a game. You want him to start and help keep us from falling behind until our shots start dropping. Then you want him the last ten minutes of the game or so, assuming we haven't blown the other team out by then. Now we are looking at Yao becoming the dominant center in the West. I think Vlade can guard him better than any guy we have now. :)

Divac and as the Sacramento Kings were at their best last year when he was getting 25-35 minutes per game. This team would be much better with him in doing that.
