Sounds good. I’ll hit you up next month at some point. Hope you’re enjoying retirement.

Not doing a lot but honey do projects that have been years in the making. I complained in another thread that I pulled my shoulder out of the socket digging a hole to plant a rose bush.... lol.. Isnt that what old guys do, plant rose bushes... lol. I still work 10-15 hours a week estimating larger commercial jobs. I'm pretty much out the day to day grind...not answering the phone or scheduling the techs or dealing with pain in the ass customers or supers. I've had my fill of that madness. I do go to a jobsite occasionally just to make sure the techs are putting the right doors in the right openings. Shoot breeze with the super and make sure the job is happening the way it should. Play golf a couple days a week, make sure the humming bird feeder is full, you know, the real inportand stuff and mess with my guitar a lot. Life is good. Going to Buddy Guy concert tomorrow night. Haven't been to a concert since Covid happened. All good here.

Its my understanding that Ojulari had an old knee injury...but he had some junk floating around in there and they decided he should clean it out before he starts his nfl career to try and avoid future issues..

Here ya go:
I found an update that happened in 2020. I think what we are doing is legal now.

The types of practices that teams now are allowed to hold under the terms of the new CBA also will be different. The first three days of practice have the same rules in the new CBA, but Days 4-6 are different.

Under the terms of the new CBA, players are allowed to practice full speed in "spiders and shells" (light practice gear) on the fourth and fifth days of camp, but they are not allowed to have a padded practice, as they were under the old CBA. Day 6 in the new CBA is a mandatory day off before Day 7, the first day in pads -- which used to be Day 4 under the old CBA.

So my observations from Camp Today:

Practice definitely has a very no nonsense feel to it. There was very little standing around. Transitioning between different drills was quick. No wasted time. Very different from Camp Cupcake last year.

Man the new updated helmets really POPPED in person. I mean they looked stunning! I was really impressed.

Zach Pascal really stole the show today. Big physical WR. Had a great catch in traffic from McCoy where Simmons read the play and should have intercepted the ball but Pascal somehow came down with it. He had another catch from Tune that was a thing of beauty. Just came away really impressed with Pascal!

Hollywood and Rondale both looked great out there as well. Man they are quick! Both had a couple nice catches. Rondale had a nice deep out catch. Was nice to see Rondale catching the ball down field.

While on the WRs I think Michael Wilson is the clear #4 WR right now. He looked good as well.

James Conner looks great. He looks like a beast out there.

I didn't get to see much of the Defense. However I did notice that during the 11 on 11 drills there were two distinct formations.

One formation had Simmons playing center field behind Budda and Jalen with White in the middle by himself.

The other formation had Krys Barnes next to White with Simmons on the sideline with Budda and Jalen as the two deep safeties.

Zaven and Gardeck were Standing up on the Edge.

Then they had 3 DL who I had a hard time seeing numbers. I did spot Carlos Watkins, Fotu, Ledbetter and Cam Thomas out there a couple of times with the ones.

Overall I was impressed with the flow and how crisp practice went.

Also it was a very small crowd. I'd guess maybe 600-700 people attended the first practice.

Just to defend Simmons a bit here on that Zach Pascal play.

I think in game Simmons would have got that. In practice this early without pads DB's aren't going to throw themselves around and risk injury. So he kinda just stretch for it a little while trying to stay on his feet. I think if this was later and they were in full pads he probably takes that or at least bats it down.

Did Tune look like a NFL QB?

He had a couple of nice throws. However this was without pads and live bullets flying so take it for what that is worth.

A couple of other things that I forgot to mention:

Fantastic to see the QBs taking snaps from under center!

PLAY ACTION on pretty much every pass play!!!!

It happened straight across the field from me.

I saw Simmons break on the ball and attack the ball at it's highest point. I instantly thought that Simmons was going to get an easy INT. It was a great play by Simmons but Pascal just outmuscled him for the ball. There was a pretty big collision with Simmons landing hard on Pascal.

I’m so looking forward to watching this kid get preseason reps. But, it’ll take an experienced NFL QB to deal with the defenses of Washington, NY, and Dallas to open the season. McCoy would be best suited for that, but not certain he can stay healthy that long. Enter K1 somewhere during that stretch of the first 3-4 games.
