This grade does not surprise me at all. Very fair. Yesterday on Gambo and Burns, they were saying how they can't see Bradley being traded due to the front office trading most of their pitching prospects. Burns thinks the Skaggs trade could be turn out to be like the Parker trade. He thinks Towers gave up too early on him.

D+ is very fair. Anything more and I would have said they were being generous. WHat have we added to make us better than .500? The only thing we can hope for is guys like Miggy and Miley have bounce back seasons.

D+ is fair. Long term the effects of this off season may be much worse. I would not be at all surprised if both Davidson and Eaton are more impactful players this year than Trumbo.

Our pen looks improved, our rotation is the same except with less upside and depth, our fielding will likely be worse. Hitting... who knows. IMO a lot rides on Miggy... if 2013 is the new reality for Miggy then I think our run production will probably decline.

Towers made the team older but I can't see them winning any more games than they did last year. Tanaka was "Tower's Last Stand." He basically put all his eggs in that basket, now we're screwed.

I am sure Towers knew that we were a very long shot to win the bidding war. He made a statement with a serious offer on the chance that it might have happened. I don't think he "put" all of his eggs anywhere.

What does he have to fall back on? Building a winner with our young players.

Do you think he's here next year if the Dbacks finish 81-81 again?

I hope not! The "statement" I referred to about his making an offer for Tanaka would be "style over substance".

There was no realistic chance that Towers was going to land him in Phoenix. It is called "huff & puff" management -- "look how hard I'm working".

Another mediocre (81-81) season would offer hopes for . . . then another 81-81 season. And on and on.
