man, what a complete joke the Yankees have been since we ended their reign of terror back in 2001. 6 years... highest payroll, all-star lineup... no rings... priceless.

A-Rod hits .267 with one RBI in 4 games, cementing himself as the biggest playoff choke artist of all-time!

Hasn't the Yankee payroll nearly tripled since that 2001 team? If I had any photoshop skills I'd totally make a picture mocking the Yankees with the MasterCard slogan. Show a picture of the WS with a caption "There are somethings money can't buy" then a picture of all the high priced Yankees with all their salaries captioned with "for everything ele..........".

Hey Steinbrenner, you can buy the best players, but you can't buy the best team. I love to see the Yankees lose. Woo hoo!! I almost got a two for one with a Cowboys loss.

Ronan Tynan is a stud.

If you say so... but he drags out that song by about 15 minutes past the point when my ears bleed.

The Yankees are the most successful franchise in Sports... and I hate them. However, to 82's point, there are a couple of class acts in that organization. One of which is about to be fired.

The problem with the Yankees recently - they have just tried to purchase the best 'established' players and mix in a few needs. When they have been the most successful in the past, they have purchased prospects to grow in the organization from the beginning, mixed with an established star or two brought in through trade or free agency - that was a winning formula. It always seemed that if there was a hot Cuban prospect, or a new kid playing in the minors someplace, the Yankees would throw major $$ their way. Also, at one time, didn't the Yankees have near twice the scouting team as any organization? This is the way to sustain winning and greatness, build it. The D-Backs are learning that right now.

I'm so glad that King George has zero patience... it is to the league's advantage.

Why do people keep saying Torre's gonna be fired? I thought this was the last year of his contract, so technically there's no firing.

You know what's sad about all this? Nothing.

But really, everyone will blame A-Rod for this, when you have a guy like Jeter hit .176, Posada .133, Cabrera .188, and Matsui .182.

But yeah, it was A-Rod's fault.

Yankee fans are becoming Cubs fans: They have to blame someone or something, when they never seem to look at the whole picture and say "Wow, we stunk."

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that anyone who blames ARod for the Yanks struggles doesn't know much about baseball. They just profess to which makes them look that much more ridiculous.

Baseball championships, over any other sport, can't be bought (the playoffs can, but not a championship) because even the best teams in history lose 50 games a year. Dropping 3 in a 5 game stretch or 4 in a 7 is just too possible to guarantee a championship.

Jeter just hit into another double play that was A-Rod's fault.
