Ohio State has been nothing but successful in first round of March Madness under coach Kevin McGuff.

Since he joined the program ahead of the 2013-14 season, the Buckeyes have made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and have not lost a first-round matchup.

This year, Ohio State (25-6) is set face the No. 13 seed Montana State (30-3) in the first round at Value City Arena. The Buckeyes were granted hosting rights as the No. 4 seed in the Birmingham 3 region.

"As I have told the team all week, Montana State is used to winning," McGuff said. "They've won 30 games for a reason. They're well-coached. They play extremely hard, and they're going to show up here and compete to win. So, we better have the same mindset if we want to be successful."

Montana State earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as Big Sky Tournament champions.
