OK, now take what we are this year and add J.Cooper, S.Acho & A.Okafor...

We went all year without Jonathan Cooper, Sam Acho and Alex Okafor.

I think it's safe to way wether through free agency or the draft we'll have an upgrade at LT also, this team could be SCARY

And we'll need to be since we play the AFC West next year.

Eh, it's a year to year league. Coming off of last year, AFC West looked like it could be Denver and 3 teams that would be fighting to see who would suck the least to finish in second place. And, Atlanta and Houston were supposed to be some of the toughest games on our schedule this year. Just never know.

I agree Cooper looks like a huge upgrade. Acho is a player I really like but he is not an elite pass rusher. We have no idea what we have in 4th rd pick Okafor.

We have to upgrade our LT as you state but elite pass rusher is still on the list for me. Plus we don't know we will be able to re-sign Los and he has been HUGE for us on the D side of the ball.

Based on winning 6 of our last 7 games I think this team is already scary. ;)

I fully agree that LT is our biggest need going into this offseason.

Our schedule can't get much harder, but our team can improve leaps and bounds. Get back some players from injury like Honey Badger and cooper, throw in a LT, OLB, and we're not on the outside looking in.

I am just worried about the 1 yrs signings not stay with us for next year. Danbsy is the one I fear the most on losing. Not thinking of next year though. Want to win this year. ;)

Los is key, but some other notable 1 year contract are Mendenhall & E. Winston, I wouldn't be heart broken if we go into next season without them. John Abraham is on a 2 year deal.

Mendenhall has had a pretty good year however I really think the staff is looking at Taylor to replace him as the power back in this offense and Mendy was a one year stopgap till they could see what they had in Taylor and Ellington. I think they would resign Mendy at the right price but it would have to be a team friendly deal.

Sam Acho getting hurt was the best thing that happened to this D. It Got Abraham a bunch more playing time and sent him streaking to 11.5 sacks.

Just saying.

Yea I know things change but on paper right now that is one tough schedule.

We really need to make an strong effort to re-sign Dansby. Hopefully we can get it done without breaking the bank.

I don't think Abe is on the roster next year. Dansby will get a 2-3 year deal and retire as a Card and eventually go in the ROH.

Abraham signed a two-year contract. If he wants to, he's going to be on the roster next year.

My hope is Dansby re-signs. I think it'll happen, but not necessarily a guarantee.

We will need more than just these guys back to keep moving forward. QB, OT, TE and a rush OLB are all still pretty big needs and none of those players fill those needs. It will be interesting to see how Keim navigates this offseason and where he adds talent.

I still think Acho is better suited to the "Sam" OLB than the rush or "Will". He just seems to be more like Okeafor and Haggans than Berry or Abraham.

Cooper back a big deal for the offense next year. Hard to see the D getting better but we can hope. A big improvement to the OL could add a devastating run game.

Improve the safety position on D. Losing Dansby would be a huge setback.

my biggest fear for the D next year is the one two punch of possibly losing Dansby and not having a healthy Honey Badger. You take away both of those guys from the D and it could have a pretty serious effect.

Wishful thinking aside, not much to go on for these 3 question marks. We shall see.

With Cooper, it's like we get two first round picks this upcoming year.

But one of them missed his entire Senior year with a broken leg.

Other guys we've picked with college injury issues: O'Brien Schofield and Ryan Williams.

Was about to post the same thing... if Abraham finally begins to slow next year, Acho would be nice to have to split time with him. Who the heck knows what Okafor will do... Getting Cooper and Honey Badger back will be huge. And should we draft a first/second round OT, the line could become a serious strength!

Week Snaps % of D snaps
1 20 30
2 33 57
3 44 59
4 47 62
5 61 90
6 61 87
7 65 97
8 53 64
9 Bye Week
10 59 87
11 60 98
12 56 93
13 73 94
14 49 91
15 83 97
16 48 92

IIRC Abraham started getting sacks around the 5th week and that's when you see the major jump in his snap count. Acho went down in week 3 so even in wk 4 they didn't increase Old Abe's snaps much more than the prior 2 weeks.

I do think if Acho hadn't gone on IR that Abe wouldn't have seen the snap count his getting now but maybe Bowles would have kept him at the 60% of snaps ratio.

The concern was could he hold up for 16 weeks with getting 85% or more of the snaps. Based on his play thus far he could and basically has.
