Afterward, Okeafor showed little sign that hostility toward the Seattle organization had cooled. He even had a few choice words for fans, some who openly taunted and booed Okeafor.

“I always enjoyed the energy of the fans,” Okeafor said. “It was disappointing they were drinking so much ‘Haterade’ before the game, acting like they know the situation.

“But all they can (know) is what they read in the paper. Sometimes you gotta read between the lines.”

Despite juxtaposing himself in the standings to 0-3 Arizona, Okeafor didn’t seem to be frazzled about the Cardinals’ start. Instead, he seemed buoyant.

“It goes back to why I had to leave,” he said. “I wasn’t happy here. Money doesn’t buy you happiness and also wins don’t buy you happiness.

“If you’re not respected when you’re winning games, it’s not fun when you go home. They didn’t deserve to have me here, so I took myself elsewhere.”
Don't want somebody on the team that doesn't think wins buy you happiness. This game helped everybody realize that Bryce Fisher was the better/cheaper option. Good riddance, Chike. And nice work getting shut down by a second year backup RT.

This is the Smack Shack, and there likely are no quality Seahawk boards to post on or he'd be there instead of here. :D

Go post this on your seahwaks board. This is trolling, *******.

Nah. Just posting a story on one of your players. The fact that IMO this makes him a putz is just that - my opinion. I'd have said the same thing if he was still a Seahawk. He sounds like an idiot and should probably just shut up at this point.

Trolling would be if I had come here and started bragginig about the win... which I have not.

Actually, that's where I found it. Didn't realize that this had gotten moved to the Smack Shack. Even better.

He says he always liked the fans in Seattle and was somewhat disappointed that they booed him because they do not know all of the story regarding his previous negotiations with Seattle management.

Sounds okay to me.

Yeah but would we not agree that he's kind of contradicting himself? If all people know is what they read in the paper then shouldn't he either be clear about what he says in the paper or just **** in the first place?

I always find it ridiculous when instead of just leaving for a new situation and enjoying your new surroundings, they choose to take shots at their old team and then whine that they're being misunderstood later. Trent Dilfer left. No parting shots, no nothing. Result? Everyone is happy to see him doing well. Okeafor leaves, takes shots, gets schooled by a back up, and still can't seem to just let it go.

It's real simple. If you don't want the fans to boo you, don't talk bad about the team they love. I'm sure if VandenBosch called the Cardinals a bunch of losers, he wouldn't receive a warm welcome from Cardinal fans when he re-entered Sun Devil Stadium. That's just the way it is. Fans are fans of the team first, the individual players second. And most of all, if you're gonna talk trash about how much of a better attitude you have and how much more intensity you play with, at least back it up. Otherwise, take your medicine.

Well when a Cardinal player finally says something bad about us after leaving the team, I guess we'll know what you feel like........ Oh wait.....nevermind.

As i have said before...seahawk fans are the last people to be talking to us. You guys have gone longer w/o winning a playoff game and you have made the metoric rise from horrendus to mediocre. Congrat-u-f--king-lations. You guys suck and once Holmgren gets fired (or better yet an extension) you wont even be able to bask in the 9-7 seasons you currently do. Im not saying the Cards have anything to say either because we are w/o a doubt a joke. We would be a regular on Leno's monologue if we weren't so nationally irrelevant. But the Seahawks are garbage too and you have as much right to run your mouth about "success" as Urkel does about getting laid*

That might be the lamest "reading between the lines" comment I think I have said.

BTW would you rather have people who don't try hard, because wasn't that what Chike said about Seattle players that made him UNHAPPY?
