Looks to me like we'll get Holliday now. If not, our DL will probably be lousy again next yr. Improved maybe, but still at the bottom of the NFL.

Hell no. We're just looking for the best deal..... just like he was. Wasn't that the defense he was getting?

I think he's gonna end up signing a one year deal with the Pack.

Though the Packers would like to have end Vonnie Holliday back for next season, there's almost no way it will happen unless he decides to accept a bargain-basement contract.

The Packers have other priorities they need to meet, such as signing a veteran linebacker and a returner, and don't have the salary cap room necessary to pursue Holliday. On Wednesday, Holliday completed a visit to Kansas City but the Chiefs' interest appeared lukewarm.

Holliday's best offer has been from Arizona, but he has also received interest from Seattle.

"I'd never close the door on anybody," coach Mike Sherman said. "But the numbers have to be right for that to work."

If I were Holliday, and I didn't want to come to AZ, I'd spin the big wheel of fortune with another year in GB and hope to come out on the other side with a shot to play for somewhere I like. Hell, maybe even the Pack at that point. They have KGB back in, and Joe Johnson is still around. He has as much of a chance to be productive there as anywhere, practically.

But, yeah, he probably wants the bucks now like everyone else...

I am not sure if johnson and kgb start at defensive end positions that holliday will put up huge #'s..especially in the most desired category - sacks..Based on giving kgb an $11 mil signing bonus..I see no way the can continue to use him as a situational player..but maybe they will..I would think if his agent put the word out that he will play for the minimum - he could go to a very good offensive team that wins and needs defensive help..
