On Wednesday, Oklahoma gymnast Jordan Bowers was named SEC Gymnast of the Year.
Bowers, ranked second in the nation in the all-around, won Big 12 Gymnast of the Year in 2024 when the Sooners.
The Lincoln, Nebraska native has a 100% hit rate in the all-around this season and has 38 marks of 9.9 or higher, 18 of which have been scored 9.95 or higher. She won 18 different event titles during the season, including a team-high seven in the all-around.
Bowers was one of seven Oklahoma gymnasts named All-SEC. Joining her were Faith Torrez, Audrey Davis, Lily Pederson, Keira Wells Addison Fatta and Elle Mueller. All-SEC teams are named differently in gymnastics than they are in other sports. To become All-SEC in gymnastics, the league selects the top eight highest national qualifying scores on each event and the all-around.
Torrez earned recognition in every event and the all-around. Davis was named on bars and all around. Pederson collected earnings on bars and vault. Wells made it in the vault. Fatta earned bars, beam, floor, and all-around as a freshman, and Mueller earned her mark on floor.
Oklahoma has won six national championships since 2014 and will look to collect a seventh title when they head to Seattle for the NCAA Regional. The meet is scheduled for April 3-6 when Oklahoma, the No. 2-seed in the nation, will face Auburn, Nebraska and either Illinois or California-Davis in the second round Friday night.
