....Lampe falls to them. If you believe that the Suns 1st priority is to draft a long body that has a shooters touch then they will look at Lampe very seriously.

This draft no different than other years draft someone who was highly thought of is going to drop. From the numerous sources that I have been checking, Lampe may be that guy. There are questions about his motivation and after all he is only 17 years old. One thing I know he can do is shoot the rock.

It could get very interesting on Thursday.

The Suns have been scouting Lampe. If he is there, all bets are off. They may still try to move up to get him.

Lampe is 7'0", 265 lbs. with a sweet outside shot. Unless his Spanish team sends a fax out tomorrow saying they are not going to let him go I don't think there is a chance in hell he drops to #17.

Agreed.

But if he's there, there is no way in hell we WON'T pick him. Lampe will be a Phoenix Sun if he's on the board. I haven't been this sure of a pick for a long, long time.

But, Lampe probably WON'T be there, so things get a little cloudy after that... :D

Tim Shea said that Lampe needs to stay in europe for a year or 2 at least.

(Maciej) Lampe? No. I feel Lampe should go back to Europe and play some more. He’s an 18-year-old. He’s on a “B” team this year and did get to play, but he missed half the year. Considering it was half the year and it was a B team, and to come face these kids, "sit down kid. Stay in Europe and play."

He has very limited athletic ability. There were rumors he couldn't dunk jumping off of one foot. While I don't think it is true it is a little bit disappointing that he got only 9 blocks in 17 games at his size against really mediocre competition.

Has anyone got any official measurements on Lampe? NBA.com lists him at 6'11 240lbs.

I'm almost positive that he measured officially in Chicago or for one of the team workouts at 7'0", 265 lbs.. I know that I read that several places, but I can't remember where.

Remember BIG Jake? Big stiff in Europe - predictable bust here. Lamp has all the makings of another loser stiff. Lack of production is a huge red flag.

Skkorp, can't you just say that you don't like the guy? Recently all you've done is come in here, give an extremely negative post, and then jet... I'm sure we're all curious just who you WOULD prefer we draft (or trade or whatever)... I know I'm curious about it.

Proposed rule for commenting/dogging on ANY player:

- You must have seen a player play other than a 5 second clip on SportsCenter.
- You must have info on him other than NBADraft.net.
- You must have solid knowledge about the game.
- Stuff you say here, you shouldn't be afraid to say to their face one-on-one.

What's the saying Jim Rome uses? Just because you know the number... doesn't mean you have to call.

Skkorpion, Chaplin is right. You've been pretty inflammatory lately. Not sure if you're just trying to drum up traffic here or what. There's no need to call players who you have never met or seen play, "losers".

Shouldn't the same rules apply for saying good things about players? And, "This guy I know in Serbia saw him in a game once and said he was good" doesn't count.

Yeah, you're right.

I can't believe all the conflicting scouting reports. Whether it be from our resident European correspondents here at AFSN to Marc Stein of ESPN to Bob Young of the Arizona Republic, I don't have a grasp for any player #5-#35!! (With the exception of a few west-coast college ballers.)

Edit: I guess the guy I've followed most is Tim Shea, Suns scout. Even he could be pulling the wool over our eyes!

Chaplin and Slyfly - You're right. I violated my own decorum rules. I was overrly critical and used inflammatory language.

I apologize and thank you for calling me on it.

There's nothing wrong with being critical--I think it just seems more glaring when you say that one negative thing and then disappear... :D

You used to give your opinion a lot on the Suns, but so far you've been MIA for quite a long time...

No problem, Big Guy!

You're an emotional fan, just like me.

Now, if you do that again... I'm going to have to ban you from your site! (just kidding!)

The only problem I have with Skkorps post is that he calls Big Jake a bust! :D

Although he can be alot better, he wasnt a very high draft pick, and he really hasnt played many min's to show what he's got...

While I do question his "hustle", he has show some descent stuff when given a good amount of playing time.

I think we need to let him play ALOT this year, then we'll know for sure

Secondly - I dont think we need much out of big jake. We have the scorers, we have two great rebounders in Marion & Amare...

If Jake could just grab afew rebounds 6-8, and block or even change some shots, he would help us alot! Just from offensive rebounds alone he should beable to get 8-10pts a game...

All I know is, with his size along with our athletic forwards, we should be damn good...

Man I am optomistic!

To clarify I too wish we would at least TRY and use him extensively early in the season. ANd stick with him until we can know for sure whether or not he will work his way into something. But my hopes are outweighed by my guts that tell me it won't happen. Again, I truly hope I'm wrong.
