They came out way to amped up. I will give the 49ers credit. They played with more control aggression then us and Goldston specifically was the player of the game IMO.

The Niners aren't the Vikings. The OL should not need all that help against the Niners. JMO.

Great observation Russ----they were WAAAYYY to tight for this game. I don't know what it is about the psyche of this team that they lose control so easlily. I suspect that it may have something to do with the older members of this team, (the leaders who have been her for awhile), having been a part of the losing syndrome that went on for so long before Whiz' arrival. Mentally this team is very fragile, and as soon a one mistake is made, they seem to all get the, (OH NO----NOT AGAIN), mentality. When that happens, they all seem to start pressing beyond their comfort level, and soon they are all making mistakes by trying too hard to make the BIG PLAY to stop the bleeding. They seem to compound their troubles. It almost seems like they can't help themselves relax and play in their comfort zone, and Whiz doesn't seem to have an answer for that, because he has never come from that sort of program that had to deal with this before.

Shane I somewhat agree its the Niners they are not a great team, but they have a solid defense and we came to play like we were playing a team that had already given up the season. This coaching staff did NOT have these guys prepared properly, either in scheming, motivation, whatever you want to call it they were poorly prepared for this game!

The 49ers were in the top 10 in sacks prior to this game, so they're no slouches at getting to the quarterback.

We as a team are #3 in sacks but we are routinely blocked by just the OL and with no help by other teams RB's. So Im not sure just pure sack #'s tell the whole story.

Absolutely we should make adjustments. No argument there.

Yep I agree.

I appreciate some of the sentiment also from Bridges on Hightower because I was doing a fumble dance in my basement cursing him.

However I think what the team really needs is calm leadership that is confident not all that bluster stuff that is nice and all but it really dosen't help when lack of confidence and panic is the problem.

After playing a primetime night game the very week before and playing great football, the Cardinals should have been poised and confident. While I think your point is very valid, Russ, I think the mistakes the Cardinals made early were all mental...which I am not sure I attribute to being over-hyped. I think they were over-tired mentally.

I sincerely hope that this team is going to learn from a loss like this, this time. I'm growing tired of these Arizona teams showing up like this when they need to win. We are the NFC Champions. Where is the confidence? And I don't see that playoff experience helping us at all, as they played like a bunch of rookies last night...

I'm also sick and tired of my good friend, a Packers fan, talking ****. So we'd better take care of them in the playoffs. They're most likely our first round match-up.

Shane my man, the O-line needs that help ALL the time.
Extra blockers also makes the D respect the rush game more.
It's not like Warner targets the TE often anyway...

I think you are right. This group of guys has done this too many times for it to be anything else. They get full of themselves, take the week off, and then get their heads handed to them. Fortunately they are mostly veteran players and so remember how to put them back on straight once they are handed back.

Its just irritating that a team with 18 of 22 starters being in at least their 3rd year in the NFL still does that kind of nonsense.
