only a mid rounder might land Henry.

Oh Canada!
I say that we inquire and if it's only a 4th 0r 5th pick than we have to grab him.

The Bills think bringing Travis Henry back is possible.
Anything's possible, but look for Buffalo to trade Henry for a mid-round draft pick.

I agree that we ought to go after Henry. He's hard-nosed & can run inside & outside. He just sat out a good portion of this season so he's well rested & preserved. If we draft a RB, it'll cost us a fortune & there's no guarantee he'll work out. We KNOW Henry has at least 1000 yds in him, he's proven it. Most of my buddies from Syracuse are die-hard Bills fans. They certainly prefer McGahee, but they like Henry very much. If we can land him for a 4th or 5th round pick, we really should do it, especially with a draft that is not very deep.

He is young and a quality running back as you say. I would not mind at all if we were able to get him. It might cost a 3rd to get it done though. The Bills might still be worried Magahee would get injured and want him as security. This off season is going to be interesting.

I would LOVE to get Travis Henry for a 4th or even 3rd rounder, and pick up a CB with the #8 pick!

I go back and forth on trading for Henry or Bennett. Today I think with so many RBs available in FA and in the draft we should go one of those routes. DeAngelo Williams could well be there for us in the second.

Personally, I prefer Henry over Bennett.

Has Williams declared to go into the draft yet?

You wont be hearing from him til the deadline of Jan 15th. He wants to see how far along his leg will be before he makes a decision. But the word is his leg is healing faster then the originally suspected 8 weeks.

I would love if we traded for Henry. He is a proven 1,000 yd back in the NFL. He can run in and outside and is a warrior that will play through injurys.

Hey Rats, Henry has said that he wants out of the Bills. He wants to be the feature back on a team. He has become friends with Willis but doesn't want to be a back up.

Why risk the bust potential? You know what your getting in Henry. A RB who produces at the NFL level.

Yeah, I guess. There's just something that makes me a little uneasy about him. I wouldn't be upset if we traded a third for him, I suppose.

Talent potential, maybe? We did the same thing for Murrell, right? A guy who ran pretty well for the Jets for a couple of years, then when he got here he was pretty average. When you draft a kid like Cadillac or DeAngelo Williams, yeah they might bust, but they may also turn out to be the next Marshall Faulk.

I like Henry a lot. I can hardly believe he can be obtained for a second day draft pick. The one drawback to him is he does lay the ball on the turf more than average.

Unless Im mistaken Murrell never had 1400 yard and 1300 yard seasons with double digit TDs 14 and 10 I believe. Henry has put up Pro-bowl type #s in this league. Just seems a more logical choice to me especially since he is still young. Murrell was already in his 30s when we got him too.

I would rather do that then risk the draft pick.

In fairness to Henry that was earlier on in his career he has been much better the last 2 seasons.

Henry, Bennett

I would love to land Travis Henry. I have always felt he was an underrated back. I would not be at all upset if we landed Bennett. I would be displeased if we go into camp with Shipp as our number 1 and no one as our number 2. If we could get Henry for our 3rd... I would jump all over that.

We have a real need at RB, but we are going to need to draft to bolster our CBs and O-line.

Yeah, I was at the Bills game and when Henry came in the crowd went crazy rooting for him.

I think a fourth rounder would get it done. The Rams gave up a 3rd & a 5th? For Faulk.

Wow, what a love fest. Travis Henry is an improvement over anything that we have but I'm not sure that I owuld declare him our savior yet. Yes, a mid round pick is a good price but this is also a runningback who has been banged up in his career and has a tendancy to put the ball on the turf. You can say that hes has improved but that is because he ha been been playing half as much as he had been. I would definitely make the deal for a fifth, but a 4th rounder is as low as I would go.

Sorry but you would only give up a 4th rounder for a RB who has had a 1400 and 1300 yards seasons back to back in the NFL and a mighty nice 14 and 10 TDs respectively in those same seasons? Those are Pro-Bowl caliber #s!

The guy is a franchise caliber RB and is well worth the fumble risk he provides. Besides that can be coached out of you just ask Tiki Barber. Do you think that Packer fans would get rid of Ahman Green?

Heck I would be willing to give up a 3rd and a 4th! We can make our impact in the draft with the 1st and 2nd!

Shane, you might be right. But, from what I have seen of Henry he just doesn't seem to have IT. He doesn't have great power and seems to get stood up at the line quite a bit. He does fumble with regularity and it takes time to coach that out of a player (some just don't have the hands for it). Not much break away speed but he does have decent vision.

Don't get me wrong, Travis Henry can be a decent back but I don't see his worth for anything earlier than a second day pick. He won't be cheap, and with his 2,800 yards in two seasons are 18 fumbles LOST.

Draft picks on day one are too valuable to give up unless there is no other option. The other option is to sign Lamont Jordan as he is a UFA. He is big enough to be in a single back set and fast enough to play in a 2 back set. Jordan has a ton of tread left on his tires and was a former 1st rd pick. He won't be as expensive as Alexander and is probably just as good. There are very few backs in this league that would start in front of Curtis Martin and that was Jordan's problem. He is driven to prove he should be a starter in this league and comes with just a bit more motivation than the other RB's.
