I would love to see a blowout with multiple sacks of Mannion by our D. If we can't pressure him, it will be a shoot out for sure. Oregon State is ranked 2nd nationally in passing offense, but they don't have much of a running game.

I found this little tidbit on "Oregon Live", The Oregonian's online website:

Early prediction: Mannion and Co. haven’t shown they can handle heavy pressure from opposing front sevens at home, and going on the road and doing it will be even tougher. Arizona State 48, Oregon State 30

Looks like Oregon State is going to take a similar tact as Utah by focusing on stopping Taylor Kelly's running plays.

These final games will seriously expose our lack of pure/true speed and missing game-changer... if we had a Tavon Austin type threat at running back or WR, our offense would be unstoppable.
Without that threat, the Utah strategy can be effective and we really don't have a serious way to combat it... In order to do so, we would need to pose a serious threat with speed on the outside - which we don't have...

Man I wish Lewis could step up and become more of a factor. He had a few nice runs at Utah, and then fumbled and was never seen again...

He also fumbled in the previous game too on a play where no one even hit him. Against Utah, it was on the exchange with Kelly, so not as bad. But still, two games, two fumbles. Not good.

Hopefully, he'll get another chance to redeem himself as he is a solid runner.

I think this will be another game like we've seen a few times already this year (USC, Wash, WSU). The opponent might score 21-35 or so, a good number, but ASU could put up 50+.

The pass pass pass offense that OSU uses plays exactly into ASUs defenses hands.

Beavers 6-4 against ASU in the last ten years.

Time to turn that puppy around!

OSU has the #1 QB and the #1 WR in the country. They are 4 & 0 this season on the road!

An arguement can me made that this is the toughest game - mentally speaking - the Devild have played this season, given UCLA is next week and OSU will not be a push-over by any stretch.
The key will be our ability to put pressure on the QB. If Mannion has all day in the pocket, he will shred us and it will then turn into a track meet of a game...
This is why I believe Carl Bradford will be the key...

I'm sure game planning goes both ways and the Sun Devils will be alert to OSU's effort to stop Kelly from running like Utah accomplished. To take something away, one has to give something up. I think the Suns Devils will be better prepared for this tactic.

I really hope they focus on Kelly. I would love for Grice to get more handoffs in that read option.

Devils have not looked impressive at all... Particularly Kelly. Need to hold on here at the end for another ugly win!

It seemed like ASU's game plan was to loosen up the OSU defense with some long passes early. Two were intercepted but I think it helped ASU establish a run game, which I think they should have used more. Thankfully the ASU defense was able to come up with 4 pass interceptions and a fumble recovery. My concern is that teams have started slowing the ASU offense especially since the Utah game. This is the second game in a row where Kelly has not been a running threat. OSU had 390 total yard, whereas ASU only had 339 yards. This has me worried heading into the UCLA game. I hope ASU can revive their offense.

Yep... And as I've been saying all year, the lack of speed on offense will come back to haunt us. I think both Utah and OSU figured this out and I'm sure UCLA, who has a ton more talent and speed than both Utah and OSU will also take advantage of this huge hole in our offense...
It's gonna take a perfectly crafted game plan and perfect execution on offense just to keep us in the game. Offensively, UCLA has so much talent and speed all over the field... Gonna be an enormous challenge for sure...

Glad we got the W, showed some good flashes, but really need to raise our game for next week.

Impressive outing against Mannion and the #2 passing game in the country, pulling off 4 int's. I didn't notice during the parts of the game I watched, but apparently we were only rushing 4 and sometimes 3 in order to drop more into coverage. Take out that last drive during garbage time, and the stats would be much better. Very solid job by the D line, though not much in the sack department.

There was an incident with Bradford in the first half where it looked like he got in a big argument with Coach Graham after he was pointing out some deficiencies in his play. Bradford was held out during the second half. Hopefully, that is all kumbaya at this point, we really need him against UCLA.

My other observation is that our offensive coordinator Norvell seems to be getting out adjusted. Just like last week, great offensive flashes in the first quarter. Then adjustments are made, and then we get a whole bunch of 3 and outs. As 82 indicated, we are going to need a heck of a game plan against UCLA, and some great adjustments and counteradjustments on our end I might add.
