CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State men’s basketball coach Jay John announced today that five players will not be returning for next season. Junior Sasa Cuic has decided to start a professional career, juniors Angelo Tsagarakis and Liam Hughes will graduate and then transfer to play their final years at another school, junior Wesley Washington did not meet eligibility standards and did not enroll for spring quarter, and freshman Vojin Svilar has elected to return to his native Serbia.

Both Hughes and Tsagarakis will leave Oregon State after earning their degrees this spring. They both expect to transfer to an NCAA Division II school, which would allow them to play right away. A rule that allowed players that graduated to transfer to other NCAA Division I schools without penalty was recently rescinded.

And yesterday Marcel Jones declared for the draft although he says no agent. So IF he decided to leave they'd lose SIX players.

Although Cuic and Washington were the only 2 of the 5 that really played and Cuic is one of my least favorite Pac 10 players. Highly skilled but horrible attitude, I don't know how many games OSU got blitzed last year where Cuic just quit playing. When UCLA blew them out he was getting positively embarassed late in the game by Nikola Dragovic who barely plays for UCLA. I'm convinced Jay John had him in the game as punishment.

Jay John must have really lost that team for most of them to leave. They are gonna look like the '06 Devils next year, and thats very hard to do

CJ Giles and Marcel Jones could be among the better Pac-10 frontcourts, OSU just has no wings or guards. The Tarver brothers flat out suck.
