NFL should be alarmed that three of four playoff games, including Green Bay's home game, still not sold out

Green Bay 8,500 tickets
Cincinatti 8,000 tickets
Indianapolis 5,500 tickets
Philadelphia sold out

Prices way too high for the experience. I don't believe our new stadium has actually sold out to fans buying tickets for several years - eventually the NFL will adjust.

I went to the Chiefs-Chargers game last Sunday.. hour and a half to get into the stadium, 2 and a half to get out of the parking lot.

In my older years, I honestly prefer watching it on the HDTV, but then I'm super impatient... I quit golf for the same reason after 25 years.. 6 hours to finish a round that should take 3 max finally drove me nuts.

I am going to get flamed for say this but we had trouble selling out the Atlanta game and they blamed it on Atlanta fans not traveling.

I think the reason given was more people thought Atlanta would blow us out. It's actually one of the reasons why I heard Green Bay wasn't selling out. No faith in their team. Well we know how that turned out for us.

word is playoff invoices were sent out to Packer fans in the middle of their big slide after Rodgers went down, right after they got crushed by the Lions on Thanksgiving, thus most season ticket holders didn't see any point in paying the premium since it looked like an impossibility that they would get in.

I was thinking the same thing, except when it was the Cardinals the storyline wasn't a concerned tone but a mocking one.

Yet here we are reading about the same situation. Guess its not a concern until a non-Cardinals team is affected.

I've always hated admitting I'm the same way. I want to support the organization and team by going but I really don't enjoy going anymore. Last game I went to was a few years ago to watch Manning and the Colts beat us. I don't know if it's an age thing (I'm only 44) but I definitely enjoyed going to games more when I was younger. I actually had more fun going to games at SDS than the last game I went to in the new stadium.

At some point it just became not worth the money and hassle for my wife and I to go. We even declined free tickets last year so we could watch it at home. Sad, but it is what it is.

even with free tickets the game will cost you a hundred bucks unless you sneak in drinks and peanuts.

IMO that is the real problem. Tickets are already expensive but then I have to shell out 6 dollars for a soda? seriously?

That and the lot I parked in this time took about an hour to get onto a main road.

You people saying SDS was better for watching the Cards are total crackheads. In my friendly opinion. Look, I love SDS, and go to ASU games even when it is hot. But, that stadium was an anchor around the Cards necks, there is no doubt about it.

I went to that game.

I was afraid it would be blacked out and I just HAD to see the game. It went down to the wire before it was sold out and televised.

I can remember telling the guy at the post office I'd bought tickets for that game and he said, "Thank you." The money I spent on that game meant I didn't have the money to go see us win the NFC.

Lol. I'm still ticked off.

This is the real reason.

Not sure what Indy and Cincy's issues are, but the Packers looked like a L-O-N-G shot to reach the playoffs just a month ago. Not surprised that a ton of people gambled that they could use the money better for Christmas shopping than on a playoff ticket deposit that was unlikely to be applied.

NFL extends ticket-sale deadlines

The Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts all were granted ticket-sale deadline extensions from the NFL on Thursday.

The Packers joined that list after they came up about 3,000 tickets short of selling out 80,750-seat Lambeau Field for Sunday's NFC wild-card playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.

A Packers spokesperson said the league gave them until 5 p.m. ET on Friday to sell the remaining tickets and avoid a television blackout in their home market, which includes both the Green Bay and Milwaukee areas.

The Packers began the week with 40,000 tickets available.

I had season tickets and had paid for all the playoff games already so never noticed there was a ticket sales problem
