Ouch. 2 new coaches in the division.

Does Kyle convince Jed to hire Mike Shanahan as GM?

Bad move by Shanny Jr IMHO. As long as Jed & Paraag are there, no head coach stands a chance. Colin Cowherd was also slamming the move today, calling him foolish to not wait for a better opportunity. 49ers are going to be zero threat to anyone in the division for years to come, no matter who's coaching them.

So the coach will be involved in the hiring of the GM...hmmm. Sounds like a bit of a reach there.

Gl to the 49ers but they have a lot of work. They do have a decent rb In Hyde but still need a qb of the future I am not sold on colin.... and they are hurting bad at wrs.

I see the 49ers maybe turning it around in 5 years or so takes time to develop a young qb.... which the cards could be in the same position in a few years hope not though.

At this point whoever they get for HC and GM will be by default of whoever didnt pullout.

I know the 9ers are a wreck, but its still surprising how low regarded that organization is. The 49ers are probably one of the 3 historical evil empire teams of the league along with the Steelers and Cowboys.

Personally, Id absolutely take that job. To be the guy to turn it around, youd be a legend

They fired Chip so that the new GM could pick his own coach. Then they went ahead and hired a coach before they picked a GM? Thank you Jed York.

I think that he is a lightweight. Most of his career has been spent working for his father.

Matt Ryan might disagree.

As coach:

I don't believe in the theory that a GM needs to hire his own coach. It is the coach's system and the GM needs to bring in the players the coach needs to run his system, IMNSHO. Tail wags the dog. It is a new era.

and the Falcons are replacing Shanahan with Steve Sarkisian from Saban's Alabama staff.

That just sounds crazy.

Nope, you are going to draft the kid from NC and sign Cutler for this next year. His dad coached and drafted him in Denver.
