Incognito is scum, judging by things I have read one of the dirtiest players in the league. Smith has to be smarter though.

Incognito has always gotten under Smith's skin. In the last 2 incidents, Antonio has been the one that has been way out of line.

Incognito is scum, but there is no need to sink to his level.

Incognito is a jerk, but man, I'm afraid Smith is going to get the book thrown at him for this one. Taking a swing at someone is one thing, but ripping off a guys helmet and trying to wack him in the face with it (while pretty hilarious) is WAY over the line and the NFL is going to make an example out of Alfonso. :( Essentially he used it as a weapon, that's going to be the kind of language the league office uses I bet.

We'll see how it pans out.

WOW! He got off easy, I fully expected 6-8 games. Had he made contact it would have been at least a full year.

Nah. He didn't take Adderal. Had that been the case, he would've gotten 4 regular season games. In effect, Smith gets a break from the rest of PS and only a 1 game suspension.

Sorry for the minor soap box rant; just think it's BS that adderal gets four games while swinging your helmet at another player gets one.

Priorities, Goodell.

Cheating with performance enhancing drugs is worse than hitting someone, sorry.

As far as not getting contact, it looked like he did in the video I saw last night.

I played in high school with Richie Incognito at Mtn Ridge. That guy is a POS, total bum. You won't find anyone that knew him in HS that has anything positive to say about him. If you hang out at the bars in Peoria (83rd & Bell) in the offseason, you'll see his drank a** at moon saloon picking fights with 175lb guys and groping girls to the point where security escorts them out.

Class act Rich.

We're talking about hitting someone with a helmet, not a simple jab. If you think using an item as a weapon is better than taking prescription drugs without a script, more power to you.

In the sport of football as commissioner I would be more worried about PED use than assault.

My good friend played with him too. Says he was the fat kid who got picked on growing up, and he grew up into a dick... Incognitos reputation throughout the league sucks.

His reputation in his home town sucks. It's sad, usually when a kid makes it to the league his hometown sees him as a sense of pride. Unfortunate in his case, when you bring his name up in Glendale/Peoria everyone rolls their eyes and tells a story of him being an ass.

This makes no sense.

Goodell has been quoted as saying 'The worst thing that can happen is someone die on the football field while I'm commissioner.' PED's won't be the cause of that; hitting someone with a helmet might.

Can you imagine if he swung hard enough to do major damage?

God forbid that someone actually maim or kill someone with their helmet and suspending one game is all that Goodell did to try and prevent this?

I'd be suing the hell out of him and the NFL.

Goodell just seems to be getting it wrong on so many levels...

Played against him, have zero doubt the about him being fat and picked on growing up. I would bet just about everything I own the guy was on 'roids in HS, and I feel he just kept that same mentality ever since. I've seen him walked out of a bar in Tempe 3yrs back for repeatedly trying to fight someone in my group who was all of 5'8 140 soaking wet.

Then he deserves to be knocked out. I just wish that A. Smith had connected with full velocity. Maybe Incognito would have learned his lesson. Instead he will have free reign for cheap shots
