Once again people talking about something they don't have all the facts, at least that I have seen and read on here. I haven't read except for speculation what started the confrontation.
In any instance the suspect resisted arrest from what I saw. From what I understand, there is a progression to use force, starting with verbal commands, then escalating towards physical force, then on to as a last resort deadly force. Not saying the officer was right, but there was verbal and a physical attempt to arrest, and he still resisted.
Looked like the officer drew his gun when the suspect opened his door and tried to get in the vehicle or possibly might have been reaching for something? A gun? A knife? Or nothing? The officer doesn't know.
If people would understand that the side of the road is not the place to resist. It can lead to deadly situations. It can possibly make the officer judge, jury, and executioner.
I did not see the officer do anything wrong and, in fact, he probably should have used force (pepper spray, taser, or a take down).
My opinion.
