I would hope people take this seriously. BPD is a serious issue, and though it is in a sense a "learned" disorder, it cause people a lot of harm. I have had several court-appointed clients who suffered from BPD, and it is extremely difficult for them to conduct themselves normally. Marshall's outrageous and unapologetically poor actions are exactly the kinds of things that happen to someone with BPD. It's tough to snap out of it as well, because it literally effects your personality and in a sense becomes who you are.
It is big time for him to admit and acquiesce to vulnerability, and I hope he is able to overcome the issues it has cause for him, because he is a once in a lifetime freakishly talented athlete.
