Chad says goodbye to Mohawk
Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson paid off his bet to Atlanta cornerback DeAngelo Hall by shaving his Mohawk.
Johnson and Hall had a friendly wager on last Sunday's game - if the Bengals won, Hall would have to work one day at the Fatburger restaurant owned in Atlanta by Cincinnati right tackle Willie Anderson.
"I said if we lost, I'd cut it off. The 'hawk is gone. I'm back to somewhat normal," Johnson said. "We lost and the Mohawk is gone. Somebody has to pay. I'm taking on No. 52 (Ray Lewis)."
Johnson was in a subdued mood Wednesday with Cincinnati media. He was a little more forthcoming with Baltimore media on a conference call. When asked about what players would be on his weekly list, Johnson said:
"Chris (McAlister) and Samari (Rolle) have made the list before and haven't been able to do the job. So, I'm going to go ahead and move up in the ranks. Yeah, I put Ray on the list. The agenda? Hit him in the mouth."
Lewis, the 11-year middle linebacker and two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year won't be covering Johnson but took to the challenge when told about it.
"For me to take that personal, it's like one of my kids saying, 'Daddy, I can beat you fighting,'" Lewis said. "I talk to Chad at least three or four times a week. It's football. If you don't have fun with this game, who will?"
