The Cowboys finally unveiled their designs for their new stadium in Arlington, and it's expensive. Here's the story:

Here's a pic - does the roof look familiar to you?:

It's like they took the basic UoP Stadium design, and are trying to out-do it.

Biggest difference? UoP Stadium is in Arizona, with views of the desert and mountain ranges, while this new Cowboys Stadium will be in freakin' Arlington.

:p

No rollout field. They'll have FieldTurf in there.

They'll have the ability to seat up to 90,000 people

The scoreboards at UofP still leave a bit to be desired

If it doesn't have a roll-out field, what is that track looking thing to the left?
Easier to get the Monster trucks in?

the bowl is 50 feet below the main level... no slide in field. It does look like a hybrid of UofP and their current stadium though. Ridiculous $1B price tag. What are all materials more expensive in TX?

how's that scoreboard going to work with punts. There are times when the ball is sky high. I know that it wouldn't work in our stadium, because balls would be bouncing off it.

That aspect will be scratched...and also due to it blocks the fans view from up top if they want to watch the opposing sidelines.

and come on, no natural grass on a new field....what's wrong with them? UofP has proven it to work

Do they factor in land cost in the figure? if UofP was in downtown Phoenix/Tempe, etc...that cost would have been significantly higher...no?

Stadium looks amazing and very very similar to ours but twice the cost...

It better be nicer than UoP since it will cost more than double.

That was one thing that really made me wonder as well. Even if they were closer to the sidelines, you could still potentially hit them or they would create further obstructions for the upper seats.

I hate the "COWPUKES", and could care less about their New Stadium. I hope they lose out the rest of the season! Other wise "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL".

Once I was in Dallas on Business and me and a coworker drove out to Irving to see the stadium. I wanted to take a dump on Jerry Jones' doorstep.... but they have the circumference gated off

A stupid move by Jerry Jones too. The bermuda will grow year round in Dallas. Any stadium in the south that doesn't have a natural grass field in it isn't a real stadium! If anyone should know how a natural grass field will help reduce injuries and prolong players careers it is JJ. I'm not saying a player won't get hurt on grass, rather, it almost has to reduce the chances of it.

I think it would be cool if an act of God created a storm surge directly over the new site and wipped it off the face of the earth a week before it opens...and their insurance didn't cover it

Ryan, you need to take a deep breath and let all this anger you feel for the Cowboys slip away. You would add years to your life. :)

I spent a LOT of time in Texas Stadium in the '80s and early '90s...that place was a dump THEN.

Can't imagine how bad it is now...

Quoted for EMPHASIS!!!

WTH?

And it's going to be $1.2B for the new Jets/Giants stadium?

This has gotten out of hand. Before you know it it'll be $250 for a nosebleed seat!

Yep, when TV deals are in the billions and players are making $60 mil for 4-5 years....guess who is gonna flip the bill. Us, the fams.
