If he had gone back into the draft he wouldn't have been the first WR picked just because teams wouldn't trust him.
I think it's great he finally signed but come on, the guy shows up in Santa Clara yesterday with MC Hammer as part of his entourage, Deion's an adviser you don't think the way he carried himself would have scared off a lot of other NFL teams if he was in the next draft?
I'm glad it's over, the kid has talent, I hope the foot is healed and we'll see what sort of impact he'll have.
It'll be interesting, they ran a lot of pro style timing routes in college where the ball is thrown before the WR turns and the QB has to trust the WR to run the right route. Crabtree was very effective in that system. Singletary doesn't run a lot of that, but they do a fair amount of outs where Hill throws it before the WR turns, that's the stuff where missing time can be a killer. If it's timed right it's impossible to cover, if the timing is wrong or the WR runs the wrong route, it's a defensive TD.
I'm impressed they got him signed, the feedback after the meeting yesterday seemed to be we hope to get something done but we don't expect it soon, so today is a bit of a surprise. Singletary isn't going to change overnight to a passing attack but it'll help when Crabtree is ready, one more weapon.
